G.n.s Hotel Kampala — Hotel in Kampala

We opted for this hotel due to its proximity to all the bus companies that travel from Kampala to Kigali. However, other than the location which is indeed quiet, walkable and have a big supermarket on the ground floor. Almost everything else needs to be upgraded or worked on. No hot water to shower, water pressure is very weak, the WIFI is frustratingly slow, breakfast supposed to be ready at 7 am but it was not. The restaurant personnel were totally disorganized and confused as if it is the first time they set up the dinning/breakfast area. The mattresses are hard and the pillows are even harder. We could not sleep well all night. They have a door that they lock for the safety of the customers on each floor with another passage thru the stairs, no elevator access and you cannot reach the front desk unless you take the stairs down. Hence NOT ideal for accessibility. All in all I would have not chosen this property if it was not for the location. I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The location is fantastic—just outside the central mosque, which made it easy to get back no matter where I was, since everyone knows where the mosque is. I enjoyed exploring the town, often hopping on the back of motorcycles to get around. The staff at hotel are warm and friendly. While one of them can be a bit grumpy, most of the staff are an absolute pleasure to interact with. The food is also great.
