If one has to stay for an extended period of time in Kampala spending your own $$'s then this is a very good option. It is very good value, clean, basic accommodation and, I felt safe staying there on my own. They have an in-house restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu looked extensive, but some things were not available. However the food was good quality and enjoyable. The wait staff were friendly and because I was staying there for awhile the head cook would ask me in the morning before i went out for the day what I would like for dinner, so he could be prepared for it. I have included a photo of one of the traditional meals he cooked for me. Thou I could take or leave a couple of the other staff.
Importantly each room has mosquito nets and they allowed us to keep dogs in our room. At one point the door handle fell off my room and my hot water wasn't working for awhile, but hey if you are traveling on a tight budget then one takes the good with the not so good.
I also noticed that this hotel was used by a number of companies who used it for their staff and it was very popular with conferences. My nicest memories from Green Valley was their garden area where I would sit in the evenings to relax and have a beverage and review my day passed and my plan...

Local-guy: 35USD, White-person = 59 USD if you are foreigner, You have to pay more.
I recommended this hotel, only because of low accomodation cost. As my Ugandan bro contact with them, the boss said 90,000/=(35 USD). But when my Asian muzungu friends visited there, manager told them it's 59 USD according to the E-mail for their marketing.(but according to the google, it was 40 USD)
Anyway, I cannot trust their reservation system.... they might change their offer when they see the foreigners.
and be careful, if i were a theft, I will use the window as my entrace!
