Mbale is a slowly growing town with proximity to the Kenyan border, making it ideal for the adventurous traveler. I spent one night at the hotel with a colleague as we had work in the nearby Bududa area. I was apprehensive initially as the hotel I had stayed in before was fully booked and we were just taking a shot in the dark.||||My apprehension lessened as we spoke to the receptionist who was very good with guiding us to the location. I had booked on phone and as most travellers may know, with some of these hotels it is never a guarantee. However to our surprise we found our keys had been set aside with instructions from the receptionist as to our preferences. She even noted the estimated arrival time for us. ||||The rooms do not look exactly as the website photos but are really comfortable and obviously recently furnished. The bed was very comfortable and pretty well laid out and spacious with ample room for your travel bags as well as an area to sit and host a guest.||||The water in the shower was heavy and hot which was very relaxing to find reliable shower. Toilet and bathroom facilities were also very clean so were the towels. There is a tablet of soap provided but the rest is up to the traveler so you need to come prepared.||||We had a fairly decent breakfast considering the town and the price and all that was provided was fresh. No tinned or processed foods...

I didn't spend a lot of time here, but I can start by saying that it is kept meticulously clean. The weather here is cool, so you have no need for air conditioning. I am not sure if it was just my room, but there was no water heater either.
You will get a clean towel and bar soap, but don't forget to bring anything else you will need.
There is no elevator, and the phones don't work, so be sure to complete all communication at the reception before going to your room.
The internet works at the lower levels, but the reception fails at the top floor.
Overall, it's not a bad place to find...
