Bonapart Hotel — Hotel in Kyiv

Before I write the main part of this review I DO hope that the manager does not append his usual copy/paste response which adds nothing to the process. ||||......................||||The hotel is not centrally located but this really is not an issue as it is very close to a metro station. ||||The rooms are clean and quiet, even though the hotel is next to a busy road. ||||The breakfast is OK but nothing special and it is sad having to look at a parrot in a very small cage. They clearly do not appreciate that this is largely a thing of the past in most Western countries and is not an asset to the hotel. It is easily fixed by giving the poor bird to a zoo where it can at least fly around a bit. ||||Our main complaint, which really annoyed us, was the claim by the receptionist (female), on our arrival, that the technological link between their credit card machine was weak and ‘would we please pay by cash?’ ||||We disregarded this, waited until another member of staff (male) was on duty and HEY PRESTO, paid by credit card with no issue at all! ||||One can only imagine what sort of scam she was carrying out. Less seasoned travellers might easily have fallen for this trick and it would have cost them a lot of money in commission and bank fees. ||||A stupid thing to do as it only gives the hotel a bad reputation and reduces bookings. ||||One other point where I agree with another reviewer is that having to carry your suitcase up some steps to the reception area would be easily solved by...

I dont even know how this place stay in buisness and get some ok reviews!||Arrived to hotel from Borispol by car and hotel got luggage accesable entrance,have to carry luggage 30 steps to first elevator,and walked again to the reception!Front kind of friendly with no smile on the face and poor English!||This is the main part:BonAprt has no heat in the rooms at all,so temperature in the room very closed to outside temperatures.||Bathroom has partial hot water,no hot water at all in the washing area.||Carpet in hallway so dirty,i couldnt tell what color was it original!Rooms open by old type of key and you need to keep plastic cards in the slot to have power in the room!?||Prepaid room for 10 days stay and had to leave BonApart nasty place 2 hours of check out,and Hotel hold my money for 8 days with no reason ,blaming National Bank of Ukraine for not refunding my money!||And hotel kept one night stay for all this mess and inconvinience they have!????||BTW,restaurante in lobby sells not fresh and low quaility food!||For $90 per night they need to do complete remodeling and getting new staff to survive!||Its not even 90s hotel ,its more like 1960 placed painted with oil lead paint!||Shame on...

Excellent hotel. Service is fantastic, and they went iou of their way to help with everything. Staff is friendly, and the rates are reasonable.... Very good value. The facility is clean and well maintained. The location was a tad outside where I wanted to go (city center), but easy to get to with a cab. The only downside was the bar and the dining area was a little small, but they both are nice. I would definitely recommend staying here

*edit - I completed my stay on July 29, 2018 and again, I was thoroughly impressed with my stay. Primarily, the staff was simply incredible. Don't get me wrong, this isn't the Hilton, but other than a luxurious, high-end hotel, this has been the best service I've received. Definitely a 5 star rating. The cleaning service left a little to be desired. They showed up late in the day, and straightened up... But wasn't perfect. Again, other than minor things, this is a great...
