Hotel Riu Dubai — Hotel in Dubai

Hello everyone my name is David Filipiak room ( 2004) I’m still present at this lovely hotel. While I wait for the entertainment to start I thought I’d give my personal opinion about this hotel. Firstly I want to start by saying a massive thank you to everyone at the reception. They are very helpful, kind and professional. I’ve had no problems with the reception. I’m staying at this hotel for 10 nights. Sadly my holiday is slowly coming to an end. During my time here I’ve been treated with respect.

Restaurant team - I want to say a massive thank you to each individual who works extremely hard to make the best food ever. I want to give credit to the chefs who make the food and how amazing it looks and tastes. Another massive credit to the team on the floor making sure everything is clean and ready for the next gust. They offer frequent services such as drink top up, or even any cutlery. Well done.

Room service team- absolutely fantastic work making our room clean. During my stay the room I stayed in has been clean to the most top standards ever. Massive credit to you guys well done. They make sure your are always topped up with water and cold beverages in the fridge. Well done.

Life guards team- the boys here really have an important role. They are on their feet at all times responding to any situation that may be caused and quickly responding to any potential hazards . I must say they are the pool superheroes. Well done boys.

Entertainment team- you can see how well planned their days are. They will make sure any children/ adults are not bored seriously during the day they work super hard with challenges, games, aqua sports ect. During the night they perform the best shows. Massive well done guys I am impressed

Bar team- massive thank you for serving drinks daily and very quickly. They make the best cocktails. They are quick hence why there’s never big lines well done.

Handyman/ garden team- guys it’s Dubai the weather here can reach 41 degrees. This team deserves massive credit and huge respect it’s not easy working in this type of heat however the hotel outside is always very clean especially the grass and the plants. The palm trees are well maintained if it wasn’t for these hard working individuals so, honestly well done

General manager- this comment is specifically for the lovely lady who speaks Spanish / Swedish. You have completely amazed me with the service you provided for me tonight. I had a restaurant booked for tomorrow and me being me I thought it was today. Once she informed me it’s tomorrow we walked of back to our room. Before we got to our room she had run to us saying she can book us in for the Asian restaurant right now. Honestly she didn’t have to do this kind favour but she did so a massive thank you.

Security team- these boys are here to make sure you are safe and feel safe. Every morning they greet you with a good morning and a huge smile. Professional attitude. Well done.

Taxi- now my personal favourite Mr Malik. This man is the person you need if you want to explore Dubai. Simply ask the front desk for Malik. He responds to your text messages instantly and will take you anywhere you want. He’s prices are way better then Uber and any marked taxi. Let’s say he’s like a private chauffeur. Brilliant service well done.

I recommend highly if you have kids or just want to relax come here. This is not a paid review or anything like that. This is my own personal opinion and experience

Aha one more thing - it was my birthday while I stayed here. The hotel decorated my room with balloons and lovely birthday cards. Thank you

I definitely would come...

Checkin Unfortunately even though we called two times in advance to ensure we get the right room setting it didn’t work out. The Reception was very helpful to help us on the next day. They promised us a room with a feature which at the end was not available, so we had to find a workaround.

Service Nevertheless the issue we had, the staff always were kind and very helpful and supportive but at the reception we received many times false information like the restaurant is closed but was actually open or the room as a sleeping couch but hasn’t. On top the service at the bar or at the Pool is very kind and they always keep an eye on empty cups or something dirty so you always have the feeling of a clean premises

Internet Wifi is free and is actually a solid connection but for some reason only 2 devices could be connected even for three guests per room. We checked with the reception and the only solution given was that we shall disconnect one device to login the third. Great advice for three person. Why is there a limitation in the first place?

Restaurant We mainly ate in the Al-Andalus Restaurant and we never have been disappointed. The food was fresh and good, ok the variety wasn’t changing a lot but still enough to try. Again the service was very outstanding in regards to cleaning the table or offering drinks or refills. We never had anything to complain about. Thanks for that A few times we also enjoyed the Palm Restaurant which is an Italian oriented restaurant with a smaller but fine selection. The food was very good and the Service as well very kind

Hotel Since our second night we had the very bad experience of having a fire alarm switched on by mistake and that many days in a row. You can imagine how scared a little kid was which slept already. These kind of things shall not happen so many times because of a mistake as there was literally every day a fire alarm during the day.

Room The Room (1017) was neat and tidy but for some reasons we thought we were the first guests. There was a spotlight in the floor which couldn’t be switched off. Janitor had to fix it in the middle of the night. The cold and hot pipe in the shower have been switched so cold is actually hot and hot is cold. So it’s burning hot while having it set on normal setting. You need some time to figure that mistake out. The room is generally close to the water splash or in the evening to the stage and bar but right in front of the elevator. Not noisy but could be disturbing.

Sunshine Due to the architecture of the Riu and the Centara you do have sun at the pool but also lots of shades. Up to you if you find that good (i.e. Family with small kids) or not (sunsoaker). The beach has sunshine until close to sunset.

Sunbeds Even though they told us the hotel is pretty full we never had the impression of not getting free sunbeds for a family or have to queue in front of a restaurant. The beach and the sunbeds is very crowded though

All inclusive Before the trip I wondered what and How All inclusive is working in this hotel. So in the room you do have a Minibar but nonalcoholic drinks like coke, Sprite and Soda are available and refill is every 2 days. The alcohol brands are Original as Baileys, Malibu, Beefeater Gin and Aperol. I didn’t try the Rum and Whiskey

Entertainment The Hotel does offer a lot of things and the Team is very kind and funny and never pushy and they always prepare something for the Kids and for the grown ups. A+ for this friendly Team

So the Riu is a 4* Hotel and based on our experiences we rate it with 4* (but again get rid of such false fire...

The most AMAZING holiday ever at the Riu Dubai! If i could think of one bad thing then it’s NOT about this hotel! Everything was just perfect from the staff to the facilities and of course the all inclusive buffet. When we first arrived the reception staff were helpful and efficient and we checked in very quick! Our room was absolutely divine and spotless with great features (TV, air con, balcony, shower) and each day when we returned the room was once again really clean. The pool was also really great and really nice to cool down in the Dubai heat and humidity, the beach was really nice and where we spent our days during our stay. Sun beds were not an issue with loads being free on the beach which is close to the sea and the pools meaning u can easily access them. there is also a really nice water park suitable for kids and adults which is really fun and again a nice way to cool down. Also, the water sports was really great with a wide range of activities like paddle boarding, kayaking and pedal boat. To continue, the beach staff and bar staff were really friendly and helpful and would not hesitate to assist us during our day. The location was also spectacular and easy with a short drive to the airport and city of Dubai meaning we had a great day trip to the Burj Khalifa, Atlantis aquarium and the Dubai Mall! It was also fascinating to see the planes taking off and landing in the background of the hotel! One of the main stand outs for this holiday for me is definitely the superb staff and the fantastic food! Every day there was a huge selection of dishes at the buffet from all over the world which were all delicious, from western food to asian food it was just lovely to eat! As well as this the à la carte restaurants were also really nice with the italian being my favourite and one i definitely recommend you to book! The asian restaurant was also spectacular! The staff were definitely the highlight of the holiday for me, every day they were polite, friendly, helpful, and always had a smile on there faces which helped create the positive, holiday atmosphere of the hotel. Laureen was always smiling and greeted us on entering the restaurant and really made our holiday so much better. Channa, Lokeen and Roshun were delightful in the restaurant always knowing what drinks we would want and always helping to clean and set the tables for where we would want to sit. Miriam was also incredible who helped at the bars and in the entertainment venue in the evening, one night she found us a table for our party of 5 and then later served us at the bar proving that she really is there to help guests. Then the entertainment staff were great and provided fun day time activities and well produced evening shows. Finally the cleaning was immaculate, they always made our rooms spotless and for my mum’s birthday the room was decorated with balloons and we were given a cake at the restaurant. Sorry for the long review but this hotel is absolutely incredible and i recommend for everyone. We will definitely be returning...
