On the eighth floor of the Centara Mirage hotel this restaurant had great views. Back toward Dubai and the Burj, the airport with a procession of landings/taking offs, and Sharjah. The night time views were good too with Sharjah and Dubai being heavily lit up.
While staying at the hotel we took breakfast here a number of times as it was more peaceful than the main buffet and had the same range of foods. It also had an egg station for fried/scrambled or omelette. It was largely self serve although staff were on hand to help with drinks/take drinks orders. A few times I saw them help by intervening when someone was trying to carry hot drinks in an unsafe way. There was everything from humous, foul medames to turkey bacon, hash browns and pancakes with chocolate sauce/syrup.
We also ate here a number of times for our evening meal. The Lebanese food is very good. We enjoyed the soup, tabouleh, humous, flat breads and aubergine purée. For mains we had chicken shish or shish tawook. We also had lamb kofta. One child ordered chicken nuggets once and I was pleased that they arrived as handmade chicken pieces crumbed with what looked like panko and pan fried.
The restaurant is spacious, the decoration is lovely, the service is largely good too. For a birthday celebration we had a city view table and it was very cool. For breakfasts we ate both inside and out on the balcony.
The service is good but more training and consistency is needed. One meal we were told it was one cold starter and one hot then main. Another time we were told we could have soup, a cold starter, a hot starter and a main. A third time was one starter and one main. Also the hotel has a mix of packages and we were all inclusive, not everyone is. One time a server topped our wine up from someone else’s wine bucket. But they were paying for the bottle! It was all dealt with but I’m sure it would have impacted on their enjoyment.
Fab views, fab food, service is good but...
Read moreI recently dined at a restaurant where the overall experience was a bit underwhelming due to the food quality being below their usual standard. However, the standout moment of our evening was when we decided to escalate the matter to Chef Musa.
Upon bringing our concerns to Chef Musa's attention, he not only listened attentively but also took swift action to address the issue. His professionalism and dedication to ensuring customer satisfaction were truly commendable.
Chef Musa went above and beyond to rectify the situation, personally overseeing the preparation of a new dish for us. The difference in quality was remarkable, and it was evident that he takes great pride in his craft.
Despite the initial disappointment with the food, Chef Musa's intervention turned our dining experience around and left us impressed with his culinary skills and customer service. His passion for creating delicious meals and his willingness to ensure that guests have a positive experience truly set him apart.
While the food may have been less than exceptional on this particular visit, Chef Musa's exceptional service and commitment to his craft made a huge difference and left a lasting positive impression. I would certainly return to the restaurant in the future, knowing that Chef Musa is there to make sure every meal is a...
