Terrible Experience at Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Village Triangle – Avoid at All Costs!

I would like to share my extremely disappointing experience with this hotel, hoping it helps others avoid ruining their trip.

I booked two adjacent rooms well in advance because we are a large family. One room was for my wife, our youngest daughter, and me, and the other was for our two older children. During the booking process on the hotel’s official website, I provided my credit card details, indicated our late-night arrival time (around 3 a.m.), and received a confirmation stating that the reservation was confirmed and paid. I even took a screenshot of that confirmation, which I will attach.

However, no payment was deducted from my card. I found it strange and sent an email to clarify the situation — but received no reply. I sent several follow-up emails, but nobody responded.

One week before check-in, I asked my sister (who lives in Dubai) to visit the hotel personally. We chose this hotel specifically because it is close to her home — we were flying in to attend her wedding. My sister explained the situation at the reception — that no payment had been charged — and was told there was no need to worry, that payment could be made at check-in, and that we would receive a confirmation email for our peace of mind. That email never arrived.

On the day of our arrival, our family friend, who was also staying at this hotel, went to the reception to check on our reservation. He informed them that we would be arriving late at night, and the hotel staff assured him that the adjacent rooms would be ready.

But when we arrived around 3 a.m., we were told that our reservation had been canceled because, according to them, we booked the rooms starting from February 26th, but we arrived on the night between February 26th and 27th, which they considered the next day. They claimed that was the reason for the cancellation — despite the fact that I had clearly indicated our late-night arrival during the booking process.

To make matters worse, the hotel only had two available rooms on completely different floors. The price was also higher than my original booking because, according to them, online rates were no longer valid. When I asked how this could happen — how I was supposed to book for the night if I arrive in the middle of it — nobody could explain. Instead, I was told, “If you don’t like it, you’re free to go to another hotel.”

In the end, we had no choice but to accept two separate rooms at a higher price. My children had to stay alone on a different floor. Nobody helped us with our luggage — I had to go downstairs myself to pick up a fully loaded trolley.

I haven’t experienced such horrible service in any country for a very long time. I truly want to warn everyone considering this hotel — stay away if you don’t want to ruin your trip. The management and staff clearly do not care about their guests.

UPD. I really liked the hotel’s reply to my review — just blah-blah and “we hope you’ll enjoy it next time”. An automatic response with no real intention of improving anything. The entire management of this hotel chain is just making money and couldn’t care less about their customers. I believe this review applies to all of their hotels.

There won’t be a next time, and I will do everything possible to make sure as many people as possible avoid experiences like this and stay away from your hotel. I’ve already posted reviews almost everywhere I could, and I’ll keep spreading this story as widely as possible — especially after receiving such an automatic reply, without even apologizing for the...

Theorem: Check-in was a breeze, thanks to Kyaw, who was a gem of a human being. Pleasant, helpful, and accommodating. The suites were spacious, and breakfast was a great spread with ample space and comfort. Dinner options were great, and the hotel had enough amenities to keep us satisfied. We had the opportunity to meet Mr. Hassan, who really made our stay special. Overall, it was a good hotel, although the location wasn't ideal, but everything in Dubai seems to be about 25 minutes away.

Truism: We had a good experience overall, with amenities for kids. The food was lovely, with many options and the area was always immaculate. Zainab, Sunny, and Alfaz were terrific and very helpful. The rooms and cleaning were spot on, but the hallways needed attention and regular cleaning (there was a certain scent that was not pleasing) Note that if the bathroom blinds are open, you can see in The roller bed was uncomfortable, but the normal beds were extremely comfortable. Conveniently, a supermarket and pharmacy were just a stone's throw away.

Adage:The Mövenpick Café was a winner, especially the iced vanilla latte. Shuttle service to the Mall of the Emirates was a bonus.

Aphorism: The lobby is beautiful. Be sure to visit Floor T for delicious sandwiches and milkshakes. The rooms were spot on.

Maxim: The Viva Supermarket attached to the hotel made daily trips a breeze. Dinner had live stations that were really good. The wifi connection was very unstable.

Axiom: The pool area was the best I've been to, and breakfast was yummy. There's a great little walk to the back of the hotel, where you'll find the Triangle Supermarket with lots of yummy snacks.

... And that's our 6...

I recently booked this hotel for a two-night stay to celebrate my birthday, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve made.

From the moment we arrived, the service was top-notch. Mr. Praveen at the reception and Guest Manager Faisal welcomed us with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. During a casual conversation, I happened to mention it was my birthday and to my delight, they surprised me with a complimentary upgrade to a deluxe suite! That was my first birthday gift, and it truly set the tone for the rest of the stay.

The room itself was elegant, spotless, and tastefully arranged with all modern amenities. The view was stunning and you could really feel the luxury in every detail.

One highlight of our stay was the breakfast—it was simply amazing. A wide variety of options, all fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. A perfect way to start the day!

I also want to especially thank Mr. Faisal and Praveen for going above and beyond. Their warm approach and thoughtful service truly made me feel valued as a guest—something many other hotels should aspire to.

Another lovely touch: when we returned to the room the next day, there was a piece of cake with “Happy Birthday” written on the plate waiting for me. That small gesture made a big impact and absolutely made my day.

The only minor issue I faced was with the AC. It seemed like the placement of the vents wasn’t ideal, and the room didn’t cool down quite as much as I would’ve liked. It wasn't a dealbreaker, but something worth mentioning for future improvement.

Overall, a memorable and heartwarming experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a luxurious and...

we had a wonderful experience at Mövenpick JVT! From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcomed and well taken care of. The atmosphere is calm and family-friendly, and everything is spotlessly clean and well-maintained. I want to give special thanks to Nandhini for her exceptional service—she was incredibly attentive, professional, and always had a warm smile. Her hospitality truly made our stay more enjoyable and memorable. The food at the hotel was also great, but I’d love to see even more variety added in the future. I would like to kindly request the chef to consider including more international options, and also more kid-friendly dishes to cater to younger guests. Rooms is very nice and spacious but room service was little slow and have to call them 2 times 3 swimming pool one for adults and one for kids with enjoying water park The concern regarding kids playing area Kids playing area is shameful to be like that in well-known hotel .. destroyed toys and no staff there Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so enjoyable. Especially Qoudos Life guard was amazing and very friendly look forward to visiting again soon!
