⭐ 1 Star – Humiliating Experience at Rove at the Park

If you’re looking for a hotel that values guest experience, professionalism, and basic hospitality—this is NOT it.

On March 6, 2025, at 11:14 AM, I found myself in one of the most humiliating situations I’ve ever experienced at a so-called “reputable” hotel. While waiting in the lobby for my car to be replaced, I was aggressively approached by a manager named Karim (who apparently doesn’t have a last name) and the security chief. Without explanation, I was abruptly told to leave—despite already receiving approval from duty manager Sara to be there. When I refused to comply without a reasonable explanation, I was met with raised voices, public humiliation, and intimidation. In front of my 12-year-old son.

Imagine being treated like a trespasser in a hotel lobby, simply because management decided they didn’t want you there. You’d think security was called to maintain order, but ironically, they seemed to be babysitting the managers themselves, who behaved like unruly children steering unnecessary fights. If the UAE ever has hospitality ghettos, this will be the blueprint.

Let’s talk about their “management.” If you enjoy long, loud public arguments between staff and guests, you’ll love this place. Sara, the duty manager, seems to thrive on spectacle—talking over guests, dismissing concerns, and embarrassing people publicly. A manager’s job is to de-escalate, not humiliate.

Then there’s the glaring issue of Emiratisation. I did not see a single Emirati employee. When I asked Sara about compliance with workforce laws, her response was, “We are in the UAE, we have a UAE license, of course we comply.” Brilliant. Because having a license automatically means you follow the law, right?

And let’s not forget the security presence. Because apparently, sitting in a hotel lobby is a national security risk. Three security guys were called, and ironically, they were the most professional people in the room—mature, calm, and nothing like the screaming management team that needed babysitting.

Rove at the Park has taken a steep dive into shady territory (Dear Sara, note I said “shady,” not shiy—big difference**). Arrogance, intimidation, and mismanagement seem to be the culture here. If this is how they treat guests in plain sight, one can only wonder what happens behind closed doors.

To whoever is running this place—you have FAILED. Step out from behind your office and keep your children in check.

Would I recommend this hotel?😅...

An amazing experience at this hotel, especially for families. The facilities are top-notch, with a great play area, swimming pool, gym, and ample parking. The rooms are spotless, thanks to the incredibly helpful and kind housekeeping team, particularly the supervisor. The cleanliness exceeded my expectations—it’s truly impeccable. Every part of the hotel, from the reception to the restaurant, and even the kids' play area, is maintained to the highest standard. I deeply appreciate the hard work and management that goes into keeping everything so clean. However, I did encounter an issue with one evening shift employee. Despite asking three times for something in my room, it was never addressed. On one occasion, I called and requested water, but it was never sent. Another time, I asked for room cleaning, which also wasn’t done. During check-out, I called the reception to request assistance with my luggage. I waited a long time, but he didn't sent. When I called again, a different receptionist answered, and he came to take my luggage. Thankfully, when I spoke to the housekeeping supervisor and staff, they promptly took care of everything and did an excellent job. As for the location, it’s perfect for those who want to enjoy quality time in a peaceful setting—ideal for families. Overall, I’m incredibly thankful for the amazing service, spotless rooms, and the friendly staff. This hotel truly knows how to make their guests feel welcome and comfortable. All the employees and staff were incredibly welcoming. They always greeted us with a warm hello or good morning. They listened attentively, understood our needs, and did their best to fulfill any requests. I have nothing but positive feedback. It's rare to find a hotel where the service, staff, and management are this outstanding. While it may not be officially rated as a 5-star hotel, I would easily give them a...

I have stayed in 2 different Rove before staying at this one. I don't know where to begin on how disappointed I was during my 3 week stay. Location: Your in the middle of no where. The closest gas station you'll need to drive around the highway to get to it. There is no activity beside lego land and Waterpark which cost alot in my opinion and it wasn't worth it. 🙄 Hotel: There is so many staff that basically no one knows who is doing what. And when you tell them a problem they will send the responsibility to other staff. In the lobby is like being downtown in gold Souq, from playing fotball to running and using scooter in the lobby, and the staff not doing nothing. No one will come to hold the door for you when your carrying stuff, I know it's a 3 star hotel but now I'm comparing with the 2 other Rove I stayed on which is 100% better. Parking: Parking was a nightmare, I have parked only 4 days of my 3 weeks stay legally, the rest was Parking on the curve and places where other car drive (in the middle of the street). I have seen 6 cars in the parking lots that has not been used for sometimes and when I ask the staff they say we will look into it. They never did surpriselly. Room: The room was smaller then what I expected and it was not clean. There was spots on the wall and the bed and chairs. The vent outlet was dirty and the vent in the toilet didn't work att all. Taking shower you would steam the whole toilet even when taking normal water temperature shower. And if you open the windows you're welcoming in gecko to your room, that happen to us and guess what the staff said, it's your fault to open the window 🤦🏽 So I was sleeping with a gecko for 5 days in the room, instead of giving us a new room while removing the gecko...

Our check-in time was 4:00 PM, but we arrived at 1:30 PM. We understood this was too early for check-in, so we waited and appreciated the hotel's recreational facilities, which kept us entertained. However, our room was not ready until 4:30 PM, which was later than expected. The next morning, we woke up early to prepare for our trip to Legoland Water Park. We arrived at the main entrance at 9:30 AM, as the bus was scheduled to arrive at 9:45 AM. At 9:45 AM, I asked the security personnel about the bus, and he assured me it would arrive shortly. At 9:55 AM, I followed up again, and he mentioned that the bus for Ibn Battuta/JBR might come first and could drop us off. At 10:00 AM, the Ibn Battuta/JBR bus arrived, and when I asked the driver about the bus to Dubai Parks, he informed me that it had not arrived that day but that he could drop us off at Dubai Parks after its other stops. As a result, we didn’t arrive at Dubai Parks until 11:00 AM. Later, I requested a late checkout at reception. The staff informed me that they were very busy on Monday and would call me with an update. However, just like during check-in, they never got back to me, so we had to follow up again. Eventually, they granted our late checkout request. During checkout, we were unexpectedly blamed for not informing reception when the bus did not arrive. I explained that I had informed the security personnel, as I assumed they were part of the same team. Despite some challenges with reception, I want to commend the housekeeping team for their exceptional service, which helped offset our frustrations. While the reception team did apologize for these inconveniences, I strongly suggest additional training and improved communication to enhance the guest experience.
