Usually, I don't write review but this trip to OCCIDENTAL SHARJAH GRAND forces me to do it.
Summary: Pluses: Good combination price and quality. Hotel has "All-inclusive" food system. Great beach with really warm sea (second half of August). Different food - everyone will find what to eat. 2 resttaurants offer delicious food since early morning till late evening. Great staff! Big beach. Enough sunbeds. Beautiful sunsets. Close to Dubai airport. Close to Oceanarium. Free transffer to Dubai mall.
Minuses: Not really comfortable that for "All-Inclusive" food programm during lunch and dinner you need to order drinks. Would be more comfortable if you have possibility to take what you want by yourself. Also staff has work and asking for drinks - extra work for them. It is just my oppinion. It is not really minus but anyway. Low tide (second half of August) - not critical, enough water for swimming but meduses were not cool. It was hurt)
At first of all I want to say about the restaurant: staff is good, especially I would like to mention Laemar - she is very attentive to the guests, especially, adult people, remember what guests choose, very intelligent. I am sure Laemar can handle difficult situations with giests with a smile. It was hurt for me to see that person with such great skills works as waitress. I do hope it is a kind of adaptation for her and she will be promoted at least up to manager position. Being a Manager for many years I can "see" people.
Cleaning in room is great as well! Very nice guys, great job!
Peopl on reception was VERY useful in terms of check-in. We got the room earlier than 3 p.m. Taking in account I travell with my mom it was very great to get into the room sooner.
NO DISCO!!!!!! That's WONDERFULL!!!!!! You can listen to your lovely music using eraphones on your mobile!)))))
Lifeguard is AWESOME guy! He does AMAZING JOB! There was an incident on the beach: one of girls wanted to drive a water scooter and went with a strainger (adult man) out of hotel beach area. Lifeguard saw this and stopped it! Attention! He is NOT A SECURITY GUY, however, he was aware and prevented bed thing. Actually, girl was stupid that she talked to strainger and her mother was supposed to look after a daughter. I do hope Lifeguard got extra salary for his action!!!!! Well done!!!!!!
I would suggest this hotel to people who want to have a calm, high-quality vacation, adult people and all who comes to the UAE for the first time...
Read moreI booked for bed and breakfast for 10 people, 1 family room and 1 Junior Suite room. It’s for my Birthday Staycation so I booked in advanced. Send email for my special request - just to get complimentary cake because ITS MY BIRTHDAY. But no reply from your side. We arrived in the hotel early to get rooms early we reached past 2pm. Got the Family room by 2:30pm but the Junior Suite is not yet ready. I have mentioned in the reception if there is any complimentary cake that the hotel can provide for me because it’s my birthday Staycation. He said they will put something in the room but it might be cake cuts only. I said anything will be ok. I just want to get something special and to feel special- BECAUSE AGAIN ITS MY BIRTHDAY STAYCATION. We waited too much time for my room but I said it’s fine because maybe they are preparing something for me. Because I requested ahead of time and again during check in. Im always having my birthday celebrated this way in different hotels so I have my expectations set up. But when the room was given 3:15 to be exact, NOTHING IS THERE!!! So Im disappointed already. But I didn’t complained or anything. I just call them to request for extra bed. Coz the room is booked for 4 persons. And until 8pm no one came to fix the bed, just when I saw a room service outside fixing bed for other room I called him to fix ours. And he said no more bed is available only mattress so I told him, it’s ok. We all just want to sleep comfortably coz that’s what we paid for as well. Especially I booked during EID and the price is very high. But I didn’t get anything special out of it. Then I got to know ine of my friend that booked a day after us got a complimentary dinner in their stay. It’s not even her birthday! And I get none! Just disappointment during my stay. It’s so unfair and upsetting. But since I don’t wanna ruin my day, I don’t want to get any issue or complain. But since you want my honest review, this is it. The place is so nice. But the service quality is a no.
For the rooms, bathroom is flooding during shower. Rooms are poorly lit. AC is not working properly it’s so hot in the room. And fridge is not cooling.

Which includes replenishing the bar daily.from the first day of arrival (12.04 ) until 14.04 the bar was empty!!! I came up to the reception, said, asked, and hooray! Three days later, they brought everything in one copy: one chocolate bar, one package of chips and one juice.The next day they brought it again - the child was happy. And then what? Again, the bar has not been replenished for three days. I come up again and ask again - they say you were asleep. So friends, bring everything you didn't bring the next day. Tuesday we are waiting, Wednesday we are waiting, Thursday we go to ask. Again, there is nothing. Friday - there is nothing, my child calls the reception asking, I talk to Anastasia in the afternoon, with Ariana in the evening - they tell me again you were asleep. Guys! We paid for ALL!!!! In a very bad mood, they told me that they would bring it. And what they brought me - two chocolates !!!! They say there are no chips . And I'm asking for juice. They give you one. Why alone? At least three in the days that we missed! They don 't give you one per room , they say . Strange. The child begins to explain . They shove the second juice at me very audaciously. A question! Why such disrespect? Why does this approach work for EVERYONE - the price includes this service in full! The room is not replenished with water for two days! In general, I am very disappointed. And according to the reviews of other vacationers, I'm not the only one! Terrible attitude towards children, towards the client!
