Parking.... There are 2 free car parks to use, one smaller right outside the hotel and one larger just a short walk away. No issues with parking. Staff were so lovely, very polite and engaging. Rooms were OK, typical travel Lodge room. Beds were not comfy 😢 backache every morning. The showers......on the first night they were cold. The next morning luke warm and the 2nd day back to normal. This was a huge downer because we all love a hot shower at the end of the day and to wake us up right?! Dinner was awful. I couldn't cut through the chicken, it was so dry. It doesn't look bad in the picture but believe me.... Avoid. Ended up walking down to the fort shopping and having a harvester the next night. There's loads to choose from at the shopping place... Nandos, harvester, McDonald's, five guys defo worth going there. It's a 15 min walk or 2 minutes in the car with lots of parking. Breakfast was OK. Typical full English and fruit, porridge, bagels ect There's 10 floors and 2 lifts. One of which wasn't working. You also need your key card to get onto your floor. I had to have mine reset 4 times in the 2 nights which is frustrating. Location is great and if this hotel had a few tweaks it would be perfect

We stayed at this quirky hotel for one night, chosen for its very competitive price, location just off the M6 and availability of electric car charging facilities. ( 28 Pod Point charging ports at 50p per kwh ) Also I had admired the Fort Dunlop building having passed it by train many many times. The hotel is located at the end of the Fort, ten floors of quirkiness, the entrance gives a car park / boat vibe with ten floors of circular windows looking a bit tired from its cleaner, sharper other side. The location is on the final approach to Birmingham airport with various aircraft passing overhead every 15mins or so, with non air conditioned rooms it can disturb your sleep. The reception, Bar / Cafe are small and only one lift was working. The rooms were dated but roomy and the linen did not smell freshly laundered but perfectly adequate. Service was good, I asked for a fan to cool the room as we were on the top floor and one was delivered quickly. The Fort building is gorgeous, locally listed and has been made into prime office space, a gym, Costa coffee and a children's nursery. Car parking is free and is behind a token barrier, which you get validated at reception on your way out.

Friendly reception at desk. Efficient checkin service Hotel room would be a decent size for a couple but small for a family (family room). TV and kettle provided. Not much of a view from the window as the hotel is located on a busy road. Bed is very comfortable. Did put the heating on upon arrival, room did warm up quickly. Bathroom simple and clean. Hand wash and shower gel provided, by dispensers. Food is available at reception, rear of reception desk. This is a small room. Ordered a panini from the bar, waited for 20 mins, then went up to bar and was told kitchen is closed and order did not go through. Did offer a pizza instead (ready made) and would have to wait another 40 mins. Upon check out, informed them of this to reception, just apologised and said she was aware as got a call that the panini machine was not working, (not the information is was given!). Thus losing 2 stars! Be aware, Sat Nav does not take you to the entrance of the hotel. Hotel is located on East Drive. Small car park, but can park in the larger carpark opposite and the hotel will validate the token. All in all a decent stay, disappointed with the food.

I have been staying at this hotel annually, but unfortunately, this year's visit was very disappointing. The room was in a dismal state, with the carpet stained and appearing extremely unhygienic, particularly concerning with children walking around without shoes. The duvet had an unpleasant, distinctive smell, though luckily, the warm weather meant we didn’t need to use it much. However, when my son accidentally pulled out the flat sheet while climbing onto the bed, we were horrified to discover a massive brownish stain. It was as if the hotel staff assumed it would be hidden and didn’t bother to replace it.

The bathroom floor was also unclean, adding to the overall discomfort of our stay. What used to be a highlight of our trips, due to its perfect location and convenient parking, has now turned into a major letdown. This year, I couldn't wait to leave as I didn't feel comfortable in the room at all.

On the day of our departure, the corridor had a strong smell of cannabis, which my kids were exposed to every time we stood on the landing—certainly not the environment you expect in a family-friendly hotel. We had also requested a cot upon arrival, only to be told that we should have requested it during the booking process. The staff made no effort to check if one could be located, giving the impression they were just going through the motions rather than genuinely attending to guests' needs.

Sadly, the standard of this hotel has been declining over the years, and I can no longer recommend it. I will be looking for alternative accommodation in the area for...

My partner and I visited the hotel for one night (sat - sun), I booked a early check in and arrived earlier then I was supposed to, the staff were very attentive to hurry the room along so I could get settled quickly.

The hotel was lovely and cool in both the lobby and the bar, as you got higher in the building understandably the heat rose, however the reception staff arranged for a fan to be placed in advance of my arrival making it a pleasant heat.

The bar while lacking a few minor things that night did have a acceptable selection to drink with a welcoming atmosphere and was open till about 3-4 am so obtaining some drinks later in the evening was easy.

The restaurant was clean and well presented, we had both dinner and breakfast there...

Dinner: a very tasty punjabi curry, lovely flavor with a nice kick to it along with some tasty scampi, the halloumi was a tad to salty however for my partner.

Breakfast: was easy to locate a booth to sit at before heading to the till to pay for the buffet available, an impressive selection for a hotel breakfast, with staff topping up the containers s soon as they ran empty, both of us had a lovely fried breakfast before checking out (wasnt able to get a fried egg but the scrambled egg was tasty).

Special mention to the member of staff called 'Romario' who made us feel very welcome and has ensured we will be booking again...

Stayed at fort Dunlop the other day with my mom for a family funeral. Had to wait 10/15 minutes upon arriving for someone to come to reception and check us in. Staff too busy talking with each other than actually working. The room is okay for the price and location didn’t expect better. However, due to the guests next door banging on the wall countless times and the corridor on our floor smelling like drugs I asked reception if there was any chance for a room swap so we could actually sleep like we paid for. I was sickened by the response. The woman at the reception, unfortunately I did not get her name but she was a bit of a bigger build kind of tanned skin with brown blonde highlighted hair, looked at me like I had asked for the world , rolled her eyes , huffed loudly and told me there was nothing she could do. I then asked if she could ask the guests that was making the noise to stop and she ignored me. In shock of course I asked again and got the same response, I then asked to speak to a manager and she told me to go to sleep. It was that bad me and my mom laughed. I wish I had gotten her name to report her to Travelodge head office, she had no customer service skills and no people skills, she shouldn’t be working at a hotel but not surprised she works...
