A romantic setting on the marina, with beautiful veiws of the River Yare to the front, and a private deck including hot tub to the rear. |The lady on reception was really enthusiastic and made us feel really welcome, giving plenty of tips and advice on Brundall, and the local area.|Brundall Gardens Railway station is a 2 minute walk on the way into Brundall with the train taking approx 10 minutes to reach Norwich which is well worth exploring. Great Yarmouth is also available from this station, or if you wish to go to Lowestoft by train you would need to walk 30 mins to Brundall Station at the opposite end of the village.|Would definitely recommend taking a torch if you intend to visit the pubs at night, as the streets to the station and the path back to the marina are not lit.|I would also recommend the White Heron at the other side of Brundall if you like to eat out, the food was amazing. |Locally there is a RSPB reserve at Strumpshaw a mile and half from the White Heron. Wroxham is about a 15 min drive where we went on a boat trip onto...
Read moreWe arrived and was welcomed by Clare who also gave us a courtesy call on our way she is so good, gave us lots of information on the area, things to do etc. Stayed here for a week in kingfisher cottage, setting is excellent looking over the marina, relaxing at night sat out in the sun, ducks, herons around boats passing by. Cottage was great very spacious, clean and has everything you need also good Wi-Fi (for kids), sunken hot tub great at the back very private to relax at the end of the day. Train station literally 2 minutes walk going into Norwich and Great Yarmouth. Hired the boat out which was a great and different day ( we ran out of petrol but Clare got the manager to bring us more petrol on his speed boat) out cruising down river Yare was relaxing and everyone friendly. Shout out to Clare who was on hand whenever we needed her she is so good and will help in any way she can. Walk into Brundall takes about 20 minutes couple of nice pubs, 2 Co-ops, pizza place and an Indian. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here such a...
Read moreWe (a group of 3) stayed at Woodpecker for a long weekend. We were blessed with absolutely amazing weather, and spent lots of time sitting in the sun on the front decking and also in the hot tub. The setting was beautiful, so tranquil and relaxing with lovely sunsets and sunrises - we loved watching all the different birds (grebes, cormorants, heron) and saying hello to the visiting ducks at the door! The lodge was very clean, tidy and comfortable, and equipped with everything you would need for a stay away from home (airer for soggy swimming costumes was a useful bonus!), including a really thoughtful welcome hamper. Claire and the other lady on reception made us feel right at home from the minute we got there. The location was incredibly quiet and peaceful, and felt more remote than it actually is (only 15mins to Norwich). Stargazing at night whilst chilling in the hot tub was brilliant. I would have no hesitation in recommending a stay at Woodpecker and will no doubt...
