April 2015

We stayed here for one night in April 2015. The owner of the B&B was not there the night we stayed so we were greeted by an older gentleman who was extremely friendly and helpful which made it a great start to our stay.

We paid extra for a larger bedroom which had a massive bed, huge and modern bathroom however did not have views out over the loch. The location of the B&B meant the views would have been stunning so it's a shame you have to give that up to have a nicer room.

Unfortunately our stay was wrecked by the person they had cooking breakfast the next morning. We found her service to be extremely rude and confronting. I had no idea what black pudding was and in Australia pudding is the consistency of jelly so I asked if that would be in a separate bowl and she rudely told me that whatever is on the menu is on the plate. Then I was asking about the eggs, plural, as printed on the menu and she corrected me about four times stating it was only one egg and not 'eggs'.

When we went to check out the rudeness continued when she saw that we had pre paid our visit and did not owe anything "No one ever pre pays, I don't know why you pre paid, how you were allowed to pre pay"

I have never experienced such awful service and never been made to feel so uncomfortable before in my life. I don't know what was wrong with her that morning but no one, especially in a B&B, has ever been so rude.

We would stay here again in an instant because it is in a beautiful location with gorgeous accommodation as long as the same cook was not...

Looked really nice and relaxing on line.|Disappointed when entered room - nice decor end bed looked comfy however the state of the towels let the b&b down completely. |The towels were very old and were frayed badly and felt so rough and dried - just!!! Use better towels for our dogs!!!|New towels needed urgently!!|Breakfast - Having Coeliac Disease I was limited as to what I could eat - I chose scrambled egg, bacon and tomato - the scrabled egg was disgusting think it had been made a long time and was congealed on plate. I couldn't eat it - the waitress asked if I would like some fresh scramled egg - that's what it should have been in the first place - but I didn't fancy more scrambled egg.|The staff were really nice and helpful but basics...

Absolutely beautiful stay, we were there for 2 nights and it was just perfect. |We were in Room 3 and it was really nice, your own entrance and wee vestibule was lovely especially in the mornings, parked the car right outside.|What a great breakfast selection cold buffet with the hot food made to order, the Stornaway black pudding was a great surprise as it’s our favourite and quite hard to find where we are from.|The grounds around the guesthouse are just beautiful.|The only thing we noticed about the area was the lack of restaurants and takeaways.|Their wee breakfast room was beautiful with views over the loch and was great meeting the other guests all the staff we met were lovely especially the young...

The Best B&B we stayed at in Scotland! The room was clean, comfortable and modern, with lovely soap. The dining room area was lovely and homely with the best views. The setting it out of this world and we had great fun skimming stones on the Loch which is just feet from the B&B. The lovely lady who greeted us (Vanessa I think) was friendly, welcoming, recommended a place to eat and booked a table for us and even gave us advise of where to visit on Skye. I can't recommend this place more and we will definitely stay here again!

We loved the Mains... The location, the view, the super friendly service and the yummy breakfast. The room we had was very comfortable. The bed was very good. Remember, in homes converted to hotels you can hear the people next door, but thankfully they were up when we were ! It is at the gateway to Isle of Skye. 1 to 1.5 hours from anywhere on the island. And do plan dinners elsewhere like Plockton or Portree as there is no great dining nearby. We had pizza one night from Kyle and it was delicious 😋

Excellent bed and breakfast. Staff was super friendly and the room was very clean. The breakfast in the morning was a real surprise, you could pick your favorite from a menu and breakfast was freshly cooked. The one downside is that the rooms are not really well isolated in terms of noise. We had Spanish neighbour's upstairs with (very busy) kids. Their steps could be heard quite well in the morning unfortunately.
