We stayed in lodge 37 which is very close to the park entrance and called South view hot tub hideaway.||The lodge was lovely on arrival and we were all very happy. The first issue we found was that there were no batteries in the remote control for the tv. My son had to drive the next day to a nearby shop to buy batteries as i didnt want to bother the lodge owner. Maybe i should have as we had paid a lot go stay.||The rules are that noone should be in the hottub or outside after 10pm which we followed. A lodge opposite made horrific noise with music going and their very small child screaming and swearing which went on until 3am. We got no sleep and it was distressing to hear. I sent the sound clips i took to the lodge owner who was disgusted at the noise and said he should have left us a number to ring. Bockenfield apparantly only have a phone service till 11pm and clearly no security after this which is worrying to me.||The final straw was that in my attempts to leave the lodge spotless (more fool me) i left an expensive personalise towel i had received from my daughter. The owner of the lodge within two hours of us leaving messaged me saying they had my towel so i said i would go back for this. After no response i messaged again only to be told the towel had been lost and probably binned (the owner claimed he had been in the bins). ||After the rubbish sleep and no tv the first night i asked could i be reimbursed the 30 pounds for my towel. Weeks later no money and he is going through insurance. For a 30 pound reimbursement and his staff binned or lost my property. ||I will never come to this...

This is a nice park. But don't choose this park if quiet location is needed. Lodges at the frint of park are literally next to the A1. Lorry/ traffic noise all the time..... But certain lodges are in need of upkeep. Our jacob creek Lodge.....is one of them non working dishwasher....which blew sockets...bleach stained sofa.....dog hairs and finger nails on the sofa.....springs poking through mattress. Welcome pack greets you with wrong lodge name on folder its says nelsons lodge. Oven dirty...Windows thick with cobwebs. This was on our arrival. And after it had been cleaned. The hot tub was dirty as the pump was not on., so cloudy water. Just in general horrid lodge....dont fall for the furnished to high standard like we did. Lots of issues.....WiFi in the park does not work. We paid for WiFi and that did not work, had a fight to get our money back. When speaking with the office WiFi inmlodges is 16 pound a month which given the cost of the holiday...owners could afford to pay that. I needed to be ablento contact people whilst away ....but no phone signal either....The lodge could be nice again if kept in good condtion. Xxxx but this lodge is not...

APPLE TREE LODGE. place is scruffy and damp, caravan is dated compared to some of the real lodges in the area, this is am old caravan with a tub not a lodge. The hot tub is OK but decking around it is mossy and slippery, parking isn't good as you get covered in mud the cabin has electrical faults also, owners are Rude and are in complete denial and were more concerned on keeping deposit even though the place was left clean and tidy. They sent my wife blurry pictures of evidence which didn't back what they were saying at all, things didn't work and location of the "caravan" not great. Owners also claim to have 1000s of good reviews but this is only on platforms they have control of deleting comments I.e there own website and Instagram page ,Facebook, if you read between the reviews you can see they actually review themselves 5 stars which is ridiculous.

The park itself is well maintained and tidy looks OK for kids, staff in the park were nice people also but I would look at another "caravan" if you want to visit the area if you want the lodge experience book an actual lodge not this... its an absolute hole with a funny smell of...

Was decent enough place. Caravan was ok, although needs a little attention with broken things and missing remotes (that was replaced a day after asking) it didnt ruin our stay. However, what did ruin our stay was the dirty hot tub on arrival as can be seen from the picture. We complained on our first day and was told it had been cleaned and chlorinated but it clearly hadn't. Didnt give me much confidence whe the manager kept saying she was on holiday. There was also a really strong sewer smell coming through the vents which the manager said was from a nearby reed bed (bog). When I complained about the smell the manager again said nothing she could do. I disagree with that and suggest in the future they fit plug in air fresheners or candles to mask the smell. This should also be stated whe booking as the smell was rancid and that's no exaggeration as the manager agreed how bad it is. If it wasnt christmas and the fact that the kids were excited I would have packed up and went home but stuck it out and left a day early after boxing day. Disappointing as the place and location was good.

We went with a company to one of the caravans. It wasn’t there normal standard but still lovely. Bare in mind your right on the A1 so if your not used to road noise that can be an issue. We got talking to some of the owners whilst there & they were all very lovely & welcoming. There’s no shop on site, we never went to the bar so can’t comment on that. The park is clean and tidy and the gates don’t lock now on the evening so no need to be concerned about that too. We will definitely return again but maybe a different caravan this time as the road noise was too much for me.

Lovely park. Close to lots if places to visit. Kids play park good. Wee shop and tavern on site. Really friendly staff. We came from Scotland and took the junction before the park, took you to the cottages. If that happens just come out, turn left and the camp site is about 200yards up the road.
