This site is not geared towards holiday makers. We came for a weekend away last year in one of the lodges and before we even arrived at the site things were off to a bad start. I was called up to be told that the jacuzzi wasn't working and that it should be sorted by the afternoon. Check in time is later than most places so thought that everything should be fine for when we arrived. Turned out the jacuzzi wasn't fixed, and as apology we were offered some vouchers to use on site. However, the late check in meant that the boathouse was closed and the main restaurant had stopped serving food. (A welcome booklet or folder with information such as opening times, food menus etc for the spa/pool facilities and bar and restaurant would have been a simple idea but alas no such luck. We had to "discover" these things out for ourselves. Our second day was just as bad waking up to an overflowing sewerage drain right outside the lodge back door. However we decided to go off site to explore the area and give them time to fix the drain and the jacuzzi. We returned around 4pm and the drain was still being pumped and the jacuzzi hadn't even been touched. More vouchers offered and we were just in time to get a meal at the club house and use the spa facilities although still had leftover vouchers by the end of the stay as physically couldn't use them all. Next morning and we were due to leave so went to get breakfast at the clubhouse as it was included with our stay before we travelled home. None of the staff were aware of holidays including breakfast and we were left waiting for almost 40 minutes while they called up several people to confirm it was included. It then took a further 20 mins to make a sausage sandwich and an egg sandwich. However, the egg was still clear and literally dripped out of the bread roll. We gave up at this point and just headed home. So last week we were in the area again and still had the unused vouchers so decided to give the place the benifit of the doubt and visit the clubhouse for a meal and drink to use the vouchers. Alas in a full 12 months nothing had changed. The food was awful. The meal I ordered from the menu a) Didn't come with something that was listed as part of the meal (The staff actual told me that it didn't come with it until I pointed out that it says clearly that it does on the menu) b) the pie contained something which I am allergic to which wasn't stated on the menu. I raised it with the staff and had to change my meal for something completely different. In the meantime my partner had finished her meal before my replacement arrived. When it came to pay I pointed out that the menu didn't list all of the ingredients in the meal, to which, and I am gobsmacked at the response, I was told "well if we listed all the ingredients on the menu it would be loads to write on the menu." In the day and age when people are dying from careless proprietors not listing ingredients, their response was baffling. So my advice would be... Visit here for a walk around as there's some nice views and scenery around, the spa is great if you can figure out when it is actually open, DON'T EAT HERE IF YOU HAVE ANY ALLERGIES. I took some pictures of the opening times of the clubhouse for the information of others as otherwise its like orienteering without a map.

Just back from a 4 night stay in a Lodge at Brynteg. We’ve been here before but not for a few years. The location is superb with the mountain backdrop, and so many fantastic trees on site. The Lake on site too offers stunning sunrise and sunsets. I doubt very much there is a better location for a Holiday park anywhere. What we also noticed was the park owners have definately upped their game with the facilities. The dining and bar areas have been completely reconfigured and refurbished to a high standard and the larger on site gym now is a real plus. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful on arrival which always gets a holiday off to a good start. We ate in the on-site restaurant / Cafe a couple of times and the menu and food served were very good. The spa facilities are as good as anywhere in my opinion and my wife and I used them a few times during our stay. Sauna, steam room, Hot stone beds and a pool with massage stations within it. If you visit Brynteg you simply have to spend some time in the spa. I also feel compelled to comment on how well the grounds are maintained. We walked all over this vast site several times and I don’t think I saw a blade of grass that was not cut to almost bowling green standards. We had younger children with us too and they loved the place. The outside play area had been completely remodelled offering a really entertaining place for kids to spend an hour, and the pool, which admittedly is a small one, ticked a big box in keeping them entertained. There was only one small area which I think could have been improved upon. The Lakeside Boathouse building, which is in a stunning location and offers a bar, food and seating out into the lake itself. On two occasions within our 4 night stay there was no member of staff to serve drinks at around 7-8 pm. We may have dropped unlucky with staff shortages but this is one thing that I would suggest should be available at all times in the height of summer evenings. This though should in no way put anyone off Brynteg, as our overall opinion is a very high one indeed. It was great to come here again, it was a perfect family break, just what we needed. We will definately be back soon. Thanks to all concerned at the site who contributed to us having such a good time 👏👏👏

Lovely place to stay. Fully equipped kitchen is very useful, really. Wifi is not free, therefore we used our own mobil wifi hot spot, when needed to check emails. Nearest shops are in Llanrug: a small Tesco and a COOP. Next shopping possibility is in Caernarforn. Pool & gym is free to use for guests. There is a superb SPA just next to the pool, as well. The only issue was with the laundry that is super complicated and not well communicated So: 1, You get a laundry card at reception for free. 2, After registering online, you top up the card by online payment - following the instructions on the card. One wash is 4.60, one drying is 2.60. Minimum top up amount is 5.00, consequently there will be always some leftovers on your account. 3, You go to the laundry, which is located at the back of the restaurant (that is next to the pool) 4, You transfer the top up amount to your laundry card using the terminal in the laundry 5, You are ready to use the washing machine & the dryer. 6, Refund only from 5 pounds. If you have 4.8, consider it as lost. AND they will charge you 3 pounds admin fee when you want your money refunded. 7, Really wondering, such a good place like Brynteg how they can afford themselves this rubbish laundry service provider. Tip: old fashioned coins maybe? 8, But never mind. While the washing machine is doing its job, why not have a good time in the pool and the SPA?

Are you looking for somewhere that is only interested in your money? Somewhere that believes the only way you can fund your purchase is through the job you do? Somewhere that wants to know all the nitty gritty details about you to find out if they are going to get commission or not? Then Brynteg is the site for you, their website states ‘Great customer service is at the heart of everything we do’, go and see the sales rep Kieron and his general manager Simon who will truly live up to the meaning of that. If you have picked up on my sarcasm in this paragraph then please save yourself money!

Another statement from their website is ‘we will do our upmost to resolve your complaint, we are fully committed to providing a great service and this absolutely includes when you’re making a complaint. We are committed to treating you fairly and transparently, and to dealing with your concerns as quickly as we can’, what this actually translates into is they will do their upmost to be totally biased and to not investigate a complaint properly.

I have made an in depth complaint to the general manager Simon, the head office responded to advise this would be fully investigated. Simon has responded and clearly this was written out with Kieron by his side drinking tea and eating chocolate digestives, he has failed to address any of the consistent valid points I have made in my complaint, when I responded to his response and told him about the flashing teeth leaking he has decided to ignore me. Anyone who has received any form of customer service training would know this is far from the spectacular customer service they claim to provide.

In fact one of the points I raised in my complaint was that one of Brynteg’s clientele visited their office on Sunday to query why she was being overcharged on her site fees, she was not offered any privacy and this was all discussed in full view of us, something which is again extremely poor considering the amount of money their ‘prestigious clientele’ pay. This was Simon’s response: ‘I’m pleased you witnessed one of our customers querying a site fee bill , our customer care team are always on hand to assist and clear up and misunderstandings , in this case it was a lady that had upgraded and had taken advantage of a site fee offer but misplayed her paperwork. Our customer care team are on hand 7 days a week and our community of customers have a very special relationship with the girls in reception.’ Clearly this was fully investigated by Simon whose spelling and grammar is obviously of 5 star standard. The lady in question handed her paperwork over to a gentleman in the office. We witnessed this whilst Kieron went on the phone halfway through his meeting with us, again extremely poor customer service.

Please save your money and go to a site that actually cares about you and will happily take your payment with due care and attention and does not judge you. Read all the reviews on Trip Advisor, they speak volumes, look at the pictures, especially of the entertainment’s room that never gets full. Most importantly choose a site that encourages family time and making memories not a site that sees children as an inconvenience and ships them off every weekend to an activity centre.

If you want to read the full review of this please go to Trip advisor and look for the title, Despicable...

We've stayed at Brynteg twice now and I'm sure we'll stay again.

There are some very positive points about Brynteg. The kid's entertainment in the evenings is fantastic, the extra kid's activities are many and varied although prices may be excessive for some visitors.

The site is relatively quiet even in peak season which means the pool and bar are never over crowded like at other caravan sites. There is also a section of the bar for adults only in case the kid's entertainment isn't your thing.

The spa is a very nice addition, especially as it can be used at no extra cost.

On the negative side, some of the lifeguards play their role perfectly - making every effort to stop fun where they can. Whilst I'm sure they'll argue that they only have safety in mind, anyone who's been to a swimming pool knows that there's always that one lifeguard doing their best to suck the enjoyment out of the experience. Brynteg is no different.

The adults only part of the bar is a great idea but unfortunately it does not appear to be enforced and when my mother-in-law had the kids for us so we could go for a quiet drink, we found that there was nowhere to sit where kids weren't present. In addition, the tv was excessively loud but we were able to unplug it to solve that issue.

Coming back round to the price of things, the kid's arcade falls in to the usual trap of over charging resulting in less use. If my kid asks me for £1 for a game of pool then I'll say no because they'll be back in ten minutes asking for another. If they ask me for 20p for a game of pool then I'll give them a fiver because I know they'll be entertained for hours. This is a minor niggle of course but it'd be good if the machines were priced at pocket-money levels rather than pub levels.

While the caravans at Brynteg are quite nice, they are still caravans. Expect paper-thin walls, badly stocked kitchens and (as we found) an oven that is only good for defrosting food rather than cooking it. Also on our final morning, there was no hot water because the boiler pressure had fallen too low. This is no-one's fault but there was no obvious way to remedy the issue and no instructions to assist and with it being our final morning, there was no time to get help from the staff before we checked out.

All in all, a very nice experience with just a few minor points that could be ironed out...
