Arrived at 19:55 and was told we had 5 min to order if we wanted food as kitchen was closing. So we rushed to order. We were served our drinks to the table too and the picture is how my guinness arrived, it didn't taste that great if I'm honest. The starter was a processed mushed up cheap chicken in breadcrumbs, the sort you would find in a discount wholesalers and that cost us £7.50. The main was a nice burger, looked like a home made burger pattie cooked lovely, but let down by over cooked chips. Staff were to the point but friendly, but food and beer quality let this place down big time. We spent just over £60 on two starters, two mains and two drinks. For that money there are much better quality places in the local area to eat.

We’re staying in the area for the week and we came here has this place was recommended to us and oh my we’re so glad we did! First of all, the staff are extremely friendly and attentive considering how busy it was and the mains arrived very quickly after ordering, the food here is amazing too with very generous portions. The decor and atmosphere inside the pub is really great, it is a local pub but it’s very friendly, we had puddings and cocktails too which were so tasty. If you’re ever staying in the area I highly highly recommend you try this place out (I would book ahead as this pub was absolutely packed) I cannot fault anything at all, really amazing.

An unassuming looking pub from the outside and very traditional feeling one inside. Efficient, friendly and attentive service by a young but well informed team of staff. Well trained for a guess. The topping on the cake was the amazing food. It was clearly home cooked and the the quality and portion sizes were 1st class. Not your usual pre-manfactured pub food, but proper food. I would have given 4.5 stars but was not able to... The draught ale wasn't as good as the food, and they had run out of Sunday Lunched by 5:45 and some of the desserts, hence the four stars. When in the area I will be visiting again. Highly recommended.

Very disappointed both occasions that I've visited this pub with my family away on holiday. The first time it took 2 hours before the food came to our table so it was a very long time from start to finish. The plus side was the food was very nice, no complaints there. So we decided to re book for our last night at the same place. The service was good although the steak sauce we ordered didn't arrive until we had nearly finished the meal. Then we decided to order dessert. We were told they only had vanilla ice-cream. All of our 4 desserts had vanilla ice cream which was really awful and completely full of hard pieces of ice. Old stock I suppose. Then we noticed that the family on the next table had strawberry and chocolate ice-cream. Strange. Strikes me that we were palmed off with the old stock probably knowing that we wouldn't be back to visit soon due to being in North Wales on holiday. The manager who runs the establishment totally denied all knowledge of any wrong doing and told us that the waitress was new to the pub and had no idea that the had 2 days previously bought in the other ice-cream. I probably think that we were definitely overcharged for bad standard of food and service. I definitely would not recommend this pub and we will never visit it in future. We have been to North Wales for the last 22 years and its disappointing when you feel like you are treat in this...

Just been to this restaurant that came highly recommended orderd chicken liver pate and nachos for starters the pate was ok but have had a lot better nachos only half the cheese was melted was what was melted was in a big lump on top then orderd mega mix grill and my wife had fillet steak wich was nice but my mega come out as a standard mix grill that nearly got poured over me due to pure laziness then only got a sorry then tried charging extra for the mega i orderd even tho it was the waitresses fault the mix grill was disappointing to say the least eggs under cooked steak tough and full of grissel even tho I asked for medium rare oinons n mushroom where that greasy u could see it coming of the mushrooms only nice bit was the lamb steak I got wich was the size of a 2 pound coin and to top it all off made us pay upfront because we didn't take are cards in as we has cash

1 person out of the 3 that dealt with us had manners the rest where very unprofessional didn't get asked did we enjoy are meal or anything I wouldn't go back to this place even if some one paid for my meal not a very warm welcome made to feel like we were tramps.very poor and not what I was expecting from such good previous reviews from family . Only reson there are no pictures is we both left are phones at home due to we leave phones at home when we...

On holiday looking for somewhere to eat. We called the pub and a very nice man fitted us in, his name was Barry. I am sorry to say but Barry was the best thing in our experience. We were seated in the small bar but that was because we had a dog. We didn't mind that too much as again Barry was so welcoming he made up for the shabby bar. We ordered the curry and the portion was small on a cold plate, and watery, probably out of a jar..Once again I thought.. well at least it will be reflected in the bill. However, it was £15.00 a meal and a free drink was supposed to be included. I had to order a pudding...which tbf was very nice. But my husband was still hungry so ordered more chips. When we paid we were shocked at a £67.00 bill. When we looked at the receipt..in the car... It was £7,50 for a glass ...of wine , and one of the beers should have been free but we were still charged for it! I had 2 glasses of wine and my husband 2 beers. We couldn't be bothered to go back in to complain. When we left and walked through the dining room, it was packed...maybe Welsh people getting a different price...?? Such a shame, as we would have gone again and again if it had been better value for money. Sorry to say all this as Barry did a great job to make us feel welcome, the food just...
