What a fabulous camp site absolutely everything you need and more! Family run business makes it even more special. Nathan, the owner, is the nicest guy. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble. He was so helpful and friendly from making the call to arriving later in the evening , £28 for a large tent pitch in a very flat well maintained field , toilets & shower block very close by newly refurbished and so clean ( they smell so fresh also) several washing up station, a laundry room / fridge freezer space available and a massive well done on the disabled/ baby changing facilities (5stars on that). A little shop fresh eggs and items on sale, you can even hire a fire pit with wood for £20. 5 mins walk to a pub and very easy access to other things nearby also. Quite site with a mixture of family's and friends but no rowdiness late on!! Bonus! We just had time to stay for one night along our jam-packed adventures, but we will definitely return and very highly recommend ! 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Thanks, Nathan, for such a warm welcome.

We chanced upon this delightful family run campsite while on a 3 week tour of Wales and we’re reluctant to leave, extending our stay twice. Beautifully kept site, large pitch spaces, easy access to electric hook up and water supplies. A site that takes pride in its presentation, clear recycling which is encouraged, even recyclable waste bins for food scraps in the washing up spots. (Never seen this before on a site) Washing up liquid and clean sponges left too, the extra touches making this site stand out. As for the wash room facilities, the cleanest I have ever come across, spotless and sweet smelling. The gem of the site is Nathan who can not do enough for you and his local knowledge he is happy to share. We visited places we might have bypassed if he had chosen not to share. A great spot to make as your base as close to the paths for climbing Snowdon, which we did and other stunning walks. I cannot recommend this site more it’s a real gem in the Welsh mountains and we will be back.

Just finishing off a fantastic 9 night stay. Nathan and Aled couldn’t do anymore to accommodate us and make us feel very welcome. Nathan Gave us suggestions for days out, very good local knowledge and campsite is in a prime location to visit anywhere in north wales and snowdonia. Great facilities, always clean, tidy and smelling nice. Felt very safe, quiet and great views. Stayed in the bottom field and originally booked for 7 nights but Nathan kindly extended our stay as we just didn’t want to leave. Great enclosed dog field giving us a safe space to give our dog a place to burn of energy. Lots of space for the kids to play football in site of us. Couldn’t ask for a better camping experience. Would 100% recommend to anyone and will definitely be returning. Thank you Nathan for such a great holiday. From the family in the Big blue bungalow (Jade, Gareth, Ethan, Ashton and Lola the dog)

We had an amazing time at this campsite and couldn't have picked a better place to stay. The facilities look completely new and they were kept spotless with lashings of hot water for showers and washing up.

We arrived by train at Bangor and got a taxi to the camping park. It cost £30. We arrive at 9.10pm. I emailed the site manager in advance to check this late arrival would be ok. The site manager was so so lovely and accommodating, even giving us his number if we needed any help finding the campsite. We even forgot our matches for the hob, a nightmare when you've been on a long journey and need a cup of tea, but luckily the manager gave us a big box to borrow.

The campsite is opposite a lovely bakery (closes daily at 12) and a 5min walk from a pub and bus stop. Its 10mins walk from afew small local shops. A great location if you want to feel like your in the middle of nowhere but also be close to some facilities for a stress free easy stay. There is a bus at 7.30am that will take you direct to Pen-y-pas in less than 30mins. Or if you want longer in bed theres a bus (88) every hour to Llaebenaris. Here you change and get another bus S2/S1 to Pen-y-pas. This take 45mins. Both journeys to Pen-y-pas by public transport are super easy. Dogs are welcome and there is a massive field round the back to walk them. Pitches with electric hook up are also avaliable. The site has laundry facilities, ironing board and a disabled shower and toilet too.

I couldn't recommend this campsite enough! We had such a lovely stay and at £12pp per night you couldn't get any better for your money! We can't wait...

We stayed here over August bank holiday. Given it's a fairly small campsite we were pleasantly suprised with the qualities of the facilities - good wifi, laundrette, fridge/freezers etc.

Despite staying on the busiest weekend, and with only 2 on-site showers I was apprehensive... but I never had to queue for the shower or toilet! However my partner, male, did on several occasion. These facilities were very well kept.

Repeating many others, it is a fantastic base for exploring the area. Also close by to a good local pub and a cheap bus.

My only criticism are the pitches. Whilst it's nice there is no strict instructions, we had a large group arrive next to us and they pitched their tents right up close to ours as there's no boundaries on the floor. This meant our car had to be parked in front of the tent, obstructing views and we wouldn't have been able to erect a table/chair or gazebo if required.

A suggestion would be to also have a separate (or sign-posted) field for ball games. On several occasions we had a football fly at us whilst trying to enjoy a bbq, and watched this football hit nearby parked caravans! Will definitely return, but in...

Where to start, my husband and I stayed here for just over 3 weeks, June 2025. This site was a fantastic base to explore north Wales. The facilities were immaculate every time we used them, the WiFi was strong, pitches were spacious, grounds beautifully maintained, washing facilities, a small selection of pubs, shops and takeaways were less than a 5 min drive away, and the surrounding areas offer things to do to keep you busy for weeks (literally)! But, above all else Nathan and his team were fantastic! You can tell the pride and commitment they take in running this amazing site. Always available for a chat or some information, but never invasive or overhearing. The site is not small, but never felt busy or crowded, the local knowledge they can provide helped Llys derwen and north Wales really feel like a home away from home. Pet friendly, child friendly, but also able to provide seclusion for those who want more of an adult only stay. I can't imagine staying anywhere else if visiting north wales! Please always find space for us! Thank you for a great stay, your new...
