Stayed in spotlessly clean, new looking upgraded single room with modern ensuite bathroom for 2 nights from 10 May 2019. Very good value at £45 per night when Rugby was on in Newcastle 30 mins drive away. Bed comfy but only option of duck feather pillows, no polyester filled, but they are sealed and caused no problems at all. Room tea making facilities, didn't try inclusive breakfast which finishes at 10am. This was not advertised in hotel anywhere, on website or in my booking confirmation email.
High quality double glazing which removed virtually all road noise at night, although my room was facing a side road.
Free private car park, well lit, but there is also off street uncontrolled parking.
Overhead shower was hot and powerful, bathroom very modern. Shower had no hand held option, which would have been useful although the shared bathrooms I noted do. My bed side light was faulty. One towel and face cloth was provided.
I would stay again. The only down side was although the walls feel solid I could hear adjacent room occupants talking either side up to midnight on last night, so if you want an early quiet night sleep or too sleep in, it may affect you. Also, just like other budget hotels inc Travelodge the curtains have no black out linings, so come dawn if your light sensitive, you will be...
Read moreNeeded a bed for the night quickly - this was available on Booking.com. And i paid a paltry £26 and a few pence for a double room and 2 breakfasts. Perhaps i now see why :-( ||||First impressions. Either: No-one on reception, no-one that speaks English on reception - or someone on reception who converses in grunts. A sign of things to come perhaps....||||Room was ok'ish to be fair. Clean enough, basic of course - and likely all you could expect for the prices advertised. (I don't know what some people [Inc me] expect for so little £££££ ). One REAL criticism is the walls are absolutely paper thin. I could hear the couple 4 rooms further down breathing i'm sure. And everything going on in the rooms between that and around us.||||Breakfast was a cold platter and again - for the money paid; did what it needed too. Perhaps infact better than you should expect for the price paid ? There was toast, croissants, pastries, cereals, fruit, cereal bars, yoghurts, juices, tea and coffee etc etc etc.||||Would i stay again. Yes possibly. We booked late and not much else - like nothing - was available. Arriving at near 11pm i wasn't really too interested in the 'facilities' - and this was extremely cheap.||||Not absolutely dire - but on the raw end...
Read moreThe pictures are not an accurate representation of the 'hotel'. Receptionist had little English. He pointed us in the direction of a steep staircase and we had to find our own way to the room. The building is like a rabbit warren. Had to go in search of shared toilet (which had no toilet roll, no soap and no drier!) and then got lost trying to find my room. |An unpleasant smell throughout the entire building. Lots of people mulling around despite the late hour. Felt unsafe venturing to the toilet in the middle of the night. Radiator was hanging off the wall in the bedroom. Walls are paper thin and you can hear guests in other rooms. Struggled to sleep due to the noisy road outside and doors banging. No Wi-Fi code. |We felt a huge sense of relief when we finally found our way back to the Reception the next morning to check out.|The only positive is the location. It is situated across the road from the airfield. Unfortunately our skydive was cancelled due to the weather. |We have to reschedule our skydive but we will definitely NOT be staying here...
