We’ve just returned from a weekend stay at Burnbrae Lodge. The house is huge! 7 of us stayed made up of 3 different sized groups and we never felt as though we were all living on top of each other at any point. The room we were in was huge! It was more like a private suite than a room. The play room was well equipped for kids and there was scooters etc for them too. There’s a couple of things that niggled at me. We were there with a couple of small children in the group and I felt that there was a few ‘danger’ zones for them in terms of stairs etc as there’s no safety gates but very hard floors and a few pieces of glass furniture. The games room was in the middle of the house with a pool table, dart board and a couple of other things. We made great use of that but felt we maybe couldn’t use it when the kids went to bed due to the openness into the hall but that was our choice. The kitchen has a lot of equipment and is one of the more well stocked that I’ve seen but could do with a decent set of knives, measuring jug etc. maybe a new set of tea towels would be good as well as the black ones we had just left black fluff over everything. The bathrooms could have done with some toiletries as well such as shampoo as this is one of the few places we’ve been where we’ve had to bring our own. Also the cleaners turned up 20-30 minutes early which adds a little bit of pressure when you’re trying to gather everything together. The location is excellent and is a 5 minute walk to local cafes and the famous old pack horse bridge which is worth a visit and roughly a half hour drive to Culloden which is a must. My niggles aside, I would definitely return to the accommodation as it was very peaceful and quite...

There was so much to do in the house; pool table, darts, foosball, board games, DVDs and the garage was filled with outdoor equipment like bikes and swing ball. Would totally recommend this place. Carrbridge is a lovely town with some great places to eat and drink. If you end up going the Cairn Hotel is a must for food and a...
