Check online reviews. This place is lovely. Superb and imaginative loos and showers.. gets busy but if you prepare and don't queue up for pizzas from the rather expensive local van or buy last minute camping gear it's a pretty cheap ish and cool place.. we are going back next year ..but earlier so to have more time there. It's amazing for families or older groups..not so much for party groups as music not allowed and not needed.. well we had music on but it's so spread out no one heard. Highly recommended. EDIT. We returned for a 2nd year and are presently in the point field. The difference this year is dramatic. No space on the top field masses of tents and cars. So we pitched up on the sloping field near the sea. It appears the no cars and no music rule only is respected by a few. Cars running at 9pm.. beeping blaring music ticking over driving back and forward to the toilets that are 2 mins walk away.. couples drunkenly arguing at 1am.. dogs barking all the time. We called tge site office to complain. They came asked the offenders to be quiet but that was it. No po8nt in having rules such as no cars if people ignore them. One drunk person shouted "im o Holiday you cant tell me what to do." The contrast to last year is huge. I doubt we will be back again. Car alarms blaring as i type this. It apears that the site is too full and out of control. Such a Shame

So much to write I just don't know where to start. Amazing views, nice feel, however...so, so noisy, if you have little kids that like to go to bed at a reasonable time and can't sleep through festival conditions, this isn't for you. If you have older or teenage kids, they'll love it! Festival atmosphere that goes on into the night and sometimes the small hours. Fires allowed. Composting toilets were absolutely hideous, full by the end of the month and you could smell them from your tent with the wrong kind of breeze! Food outlets fab if you don't want to cook, massive choice. Areas for kids to play and has own private shingle beach. A lot of people loved it and said they had been going for years, but that it was different this year and a lot noisier, more trouble, some thefts from tents, which I have never known at a campsite before, but camping seems to be changing since Covid. Brilliant place if there is a group of you and you want to party or have the kids all hang out. As for us, we're going to find somewhere that is a more little kids friendly i.e. they can get to sleep before midnight and aren't grumpy every day due to lack of sleep. Great for adults/older kids and small children who can sleep through anything. Not good for busy days out and relaxing, chilled out evenings and sleep.

This is the most unhygienic campsite we have been to in our lives! The 'luxury bell tents' were expensive and not worth the amount we paid. The tent was covered in mould, stains, infested with spiders, bed bugs, and all sorts of insects. On arrival, we could tell the tent had not been cleaned, and I wouldn't be surprised to find out the bed sheets had not been changed from the previous guests' usage either. The previous guests had left stickers all over the floor, indicating the rug hadn't been cleaned too. This was evident as it was crawling with an unimaginable amount of bugs! It seems that the tactic for using mutlicoulred rugs is to try and conceal the fact that they have such poor standards of cleanliness. I contacted them and politely made them aware of the amount of spiders and bugs that were also in the beds my children were going to be sleeping in. They said they would be sending a staff member out to do a check. After waiting for a long time, i called again as no one came out. I was told that someone did come out and said there were only about 5 spiders. First of all, it's a luxury tent that should have had a deep clean in between guests. The pictures provided by myself show there were far more than '5 spiders'. When the girl finally came out, she was incredibly awkward, rude, and you could tell she just didn't want to be doing anything. She didn't speak a word, so i had to initiate conversation, explaining there were a lot more than 5 spiders and in the beds my children were due to use. She switched the vaccum on which blasted a lot of smoke into the tent, skimmed the top of the rug breifly and got ready to packaway without actually getting a single insect, all in the matter of a maximum of 6-8 seconds. She clearly had no idea how to clean anything. I had to ask to vaccum myself in the end, which is when i found a gecko near the mattress, which accidentally got sucked up via the vaccum pipe. The vaccums wire itself wouldn't extend much and only reached the first third of the tent, confirming the tents were most definitely never throughly cleaned! She claimed they got lizards sometimes and minimised the state of the tent as much as she could. I informed her the net door of the tent was broken on arrival which is how the lizards probably got in, to which she responded, 'well you'll just have to close the outer tent door to stop it'. She being unaware that i own star bell emperor tents that have similar doors, knowing full well that would not keep any insects out, let alone lizards! The staff belittled the situations and tried to make out that we were being ridculous and having a tent full of bugs and lizards like we were on an episode of 'i'm a celebrity get me out of here' was a norm. She, along with the majority of staff, were no strangers to gaslighting! Luxury at this campsite would buy you rude staff. Infested tent, beds, and rugs. Cleaning your luxury tent with bad equipment before you relax. Broken extras (tent net door, lights, lantern, remotes for lights, camping chairs)! Tents with a numerous amount of holes in. Mould. Used bed sheets, dirty floor. Sleeping with lizards. Fire pit with rubbish in and someone stealing your paid for firewood before you even arrive. Spiders falling from the centre pole onto the beds. The unsanitary toilets and shower blocks are shocking. The place is obviously overbooked. The location itself was beautiful, it's such a shame this campsite ruins it! We did try contacting the manager to resolve this but kept getting back.'The manager isn't available.' They clearly don't know how to run a business. The staff seem to be young teens, most likely family, as they all look similar. It's not a well run business. It's solely based on being selfish and greedy (taking money for a less than satisfactory stay). Avoid this dump. It's every...

We have been here most years over the last ten years including pre children.

It has added things to its site every year...with more and more things for your to spend your cash on.

I actually prefered when it when it was just a farm shop and camping. Having said that the wife loves all the new additions.

And as much as there is a huge amount of things to do and spend cash on...you don't have too. It's all there...a nicely stocked farm shop, pattissarie, bar/restaurant, crepes, pizza cabin, grill selling burgers etc, ice cream shop, hot food selling pies (I did love the version pie).... Also extra like crafts for the kids and morning yoga sessions.

They do mobile phone/tablet charging in the shop for £1 50 if you can't live without it.

You can have open fires here...which is why we originally chose this place years ago. They sell wood and kindling there.

The facilities are good. Multiple blocks of showers...ranging from heated(gas), solar and outside showers.

Toilets are long drops and are kept fairly clean...

The kids love the field that has all the mixed animals in it. Pigs, cows, chickens, goats horses etc...all approachable and happy to be stroked. Also the dog pen with the collie puppies was a mistake for my girls each day.

The private beach is great...the easiest access is from the well maintained steps down from the beach field. It has a floating pontoon a little swim from shore which is great for older kids and adults alike.

It does get pretty busy and in my opinion they let too many on site..some of this comes down to the campers themselves...some have no comprehension of how close you should get to other tents and the unwritten rules about space.

This site borders glamping rather than authentic camping. But like I said no one is forcing the more luxury parts of eweleaze on you. In fairness I should add we did glamp this year going for one of their 'luxury' bell tents, the wife's doing not mine. The bell tents are great, loads of space. The luxury part not so much. You get airbeds with duvets and pillows, a mirror, lamp, small rug and a very coarse carpet (which we had to put our own rugs over anyway) and a bag of logs, we didn't get the compliments refreshments which should of been included...this could be hugely improved in my opinion. You are very close to next bell tent, maybe include hay bales rather than buying them, maybe a little eweleaze bag containing some local bits (a couple of bottles of cider and a bag of marshmallows, tea bags) few fairy lights on the outside. Just little bits to justify the luxury tag/cost.

I would like to see the vehicles moved on from people unpacking quicker also from the car free fields.

The staff on the most part is uni types on their summer holidays and all that i encountered were extremely friendly and helpful.

I did have one minor experience which was a little disappointing, I had some medication in the office fridge which I had to take once an evening...2 nights it was no bother for the girl in there to get it for me. The last night the manager I think it was (Peter) was very short with me..like it was the end of the world for him to walk 10 feet to the fridge..then a young staff member asked him politley for a minute and he completely shut her down. She only wanted to remind him about a shift swap..very rude man...

To end I should say the kids love it here...the fresh air, beach, location, facilties, the staff (most), animals, indoor hay bales to play on...they didn't want to leave.

If you are looking for a campsite, reasonable priced with a great location and want a campfire I would...

I wanted to share a balanced review on this campsite as reading the reviews before I joined my family with young children I was a little worried. However, the site is clean, the shop and the food is not overpriced considering you are onsite. I run events with street food and the prices were on par with those. If you expect super cheap then this isn't the place for you. There wasn't much for vegans but they are trying so that was good to see. It does make me laugh though when the owners are all about sustainability and own a solar panel company yet animal agriculture is the biggest issue for our planet right now, but I am used to this. I don't mind long drop toilets and they are better for the environment plus there were flushable ones available too, we never had an issue with the loos, although they could put in the kids seats that pop on top to help with the smaller children being scared of the big hole and help with the peeing all over the seat. The showers were hot which was a blessing, and to have hot water to wash hands and wash up was a bonus! Also whilst it is a beautiful site along the coast, the small pebble beach is not somewhere I would want to spend the day as the steep steps up and down would become quite tiring if kids needs the toilet (not just number ones!). Weymouth is just up the road and you can even see the beach from the site, and it worth spending a day/afternoon at. Whilst many say there are lots of free activities for the kids, we didn't really feel like this as many were an extra fee, however, the kids loved playing on the hay bales until some older kids came along got rough and pushed 7 years old off and a boy jumped on our 8 year old cousin. Maybe the site is more suited to older children as ours range from 5 to 9. Yes the ground is not level in many places and that can be a huge issue although we found a flat spot and were directed upon arrival to the East Field as more family friendly. I don't really agree with the puppy pen and to be honest it was a huge anticlimax for the children as none of the animals (including the farm animals) gave two hoots about the humans, in fact you are better off supporting an animal sanctuary where animals have been rescued and are super grateful and friendly. There are a lot of big groups and if you are a huge group who love drinking copious amounts of alcohol and letting your children run wild until early hours then this site is definitely for you. However, we wanted to get some sleep and this is definitely not a chilled vibe here. Personally I don't have anything about people drinking but sadly people forget that they get louder when drunk and that canvas is not sound proof. Also a diesel van rocked up on our last night and kept running his engine guessing to power his leisure battery that was obviously going flat but doing it during the middle of the night for 15 mins was not acceptable behaviour. I feel like the site is a good analogy on life right now, people don't think about others just themselves so sadly we will not return due to the noise mostly as there are smaller sites that have more trees and beautiful surroundings to explore. However, grateful to have visited and...
