Decided on Fernleigh as the reviews were brilliant and had never been to Robin Hood's Bay before. On arrival, we were staggered by how beautiful the Victorian House is on the outside, and then to find the inside is just as gorgeous. We were shown our room, which has an amazing view (some photos added taken from our room of the sunrise). The room is very spacious, a giant bed, plus another room with fridge, coffee making facilities, and two lovely chairs to chill in. (I did just that, sat for a few hours playing my guitar). The shower has a normal head plus the big one that you feel like a rain cloud is about you, which straight away piping hot water poured from. The carpet is like walking on grass, with your best nike trainers on, absolutely lovely. The radiators have the thermostats on them that, within a few minutes, had the rooms lovely and warm. Breakfast, again, just could not be faulted. More toast was no problem, more tea, coffee or fruit juice. We felt proper spoilt. If you're after a quiet and relaxing, beautiful place to stay, that the food is without question fantastic, then place is for you.

It's about 10 minutes walk down into Robin Hood's Bay. Which has a few little shops, a couple of restaurants and a couple of pubs. We decided on The Smugglers, which also had the most gorgeous pizza, and wonderful beer!

The walk-up takes a few minutes longer, which is really steep (1 in 3 I believe)... but there is a lovely fish and chip cafe at the top, with a decked area with outstanding views.

Thank you for a...

Perfect in every way. Really lovely guest house and owners communication prior to the stay was excellent about arrival time and instructions directions etc. Having visited RHB numerous times before as have family there, we know that parking is limited but you can usually get on street parking or the public pay and display a few minutes walk. On arrival we were greeted by Chris and Jane, showed to our room, number 2 on first floor with front views. The lovely breakfast room downstairs has fresh milk for brews in your room and the homemade brownies were delicious! Bathroom and shower well equipped with fluffy towels a big shower and the double bed was very comfortable. We filled in our breakfast requests from the form in our room on our way out. Hubby had full English which he said was quality and I had the smoked salmon with scrambled eggs which were very good indeed! They came and chatted to us at breakfast (about dogs!), really lovely couple and you can clearly see they are very proud of their guesthouse which they have owned since 2017, and rightly so. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to others and would definately stay there...

We can’t thank Jane and Chris enough for the warm welcome and incredible hospitality we have received this weekend. We booked all the rooms for ourselves and immediate family for our wedding in the Bay. Jane had been in touch to ask if there was anything we wanted for the morning of the wedding and I asked for breakfast in the room so I didn’t see my fiancé, she provided us with a gorgeous tray of pastries, fruit, yoghurt, granola as well as orange juice and prosecco and had put flowers in my room. Jane and Chris also went out of there way to feed our best man who arrived to support the groom. When we got back after our wedding, they’d decorated our room with mr and mrs banners. They just went out there way to make it a truly special weekend and we can’t thank them enough. It’s the most beautiful B&b, stunningly decorated with gorgeous views and the breakfast is incredible . You won’t find better in the bay. Thank you so much to you both....

Fantastic B&B! Chris and Jane are lovely and helpful and have refurbished the old victorian house to a high standard. Rooms are large with en suite bathrooms. Ours had a great view across the bay. The brownies in the room each day, with the tea/coffee making facilities, was a nice touch. There's a little library on the landing, spare brollies in the porch, and a mini fridge in the dining room for guest's use. Fresh milk and bottled water were also included. Breakfast was amazing. I had salmon and scrambled eggs one day and a full English the following day. The B&B is a 10min walk to Robin Hood's Bay beach and a 10min drive to Whitby, so perfectly situated. There's on-road parking (no cost).

A perfect stay! This was our second visit to the Fernleigh, staying in Room 2. The rooms are bright, clean and tidy and the full breakfasts are delicious 😋 Chris is a warm and welcoming host! We highly recommend this B&B - it’s also in a great location for exploring the nearby villages and towns along the east coast.
