We booked a stay at Glenview cottages for some relaxation before my partners operation. We travelled up from Newcastle and found the location very pleasing upon arrival, we had received a welcome text detailing location and an assurance that the cottage had the heating on for a cosy welcome.|Upon our arrival we were assured that the heating was adjustable to our requirements and to turn up or down as needed, this was not the case, we had to call many times as the cottage was not just chilly , it was freezing and lost temperature very quickly(bearing in mind it was march in loch lomond).|We had booked the cottage with what was described as having the larger king size bed and it can only be described as a double at best, we also found the floors the be dirty upon arrival.|After many calls regarding the lack of heating the fire alarm started sounding after 10pm at an alarming level of sound, this continued even after the management asking us the remove the outer alarm case only to find it was connected to the electricity mains supply, eventually a maintenance engineer came to remove after more than an hour of the intermittent screeching sound.|My partner nor myself could sleep after the whole incident , after zero sleep and exhausted I decided to shower , again there was no heating and no hot water , when I brought this to Joyce's attention she accused me of being unreasonable and shouting, both accusations are untrue! After a visit from Adam we informed him that we would be leaving and a refund was required which was left as he would sort on our behalf , after the list of issues we had encountered, unfortunately later that day Adam informed us just a partial refund. This was totally unacceptable and I have further informed the proprietor of our dissatisfaction regarding our partial refund due to our stay without any further resolution or offer of compensation.|Our experience of Luss cottages was really far from even satisfactory, the one star review was only awarded for...
Read moreAbsolutely lovely stay at the North Cottage with my friends for an early birthday treat. The cottage exceeded my expectations and had a lovely homely feel with tasteful decor. There are leaflets and menus on arrival with recommendations on where to dine and good places to explore. The kitchen is fully equipped with cutlery, crockery, dish towel, dish soap, sponge and oven mits. Tea, coffee and sugar is also in tubs in the cupboard which was great! (Also a washing machine and dishwasher!) There’s a lovely little private decking area out the back that would be brilliant to sit out on during the summer months! The host kept contact through WhatsApp and was available at all times if you had any issues or questions. The beds are so comfortable and we all had a great sleep! The bathroom is modern with a lovely walk-in shower and some mini toiletries available to use. Netflix is available through the smart TV which was great. Overall, the cottage is beautiful, perfectly situated, and it was a fantastic stay! We’ll...
Read moreThis was an ideal one night stop en route from the Mallaig ferry, which arrived 5.25pm, to Oxfordshire. The drive was just about do-able in the light in mid September (3 hours). We had the Sun room, which was tastefully decorated, with a comfy 5ft (I think) bed and good shower room. There was also a small room attached with a table and chairs, where we had a continental breakfast the next morning (it is left on the side and in the fridge). Adam, who was in charge on the night we were there, was so helpful when we arrived just as their sister restaurant was closing and it was our only hope of a meal that evening! He kindly asked the chef to rustle us up cheeseburgers, which were very welcome! We were able to eat them at the little table in the side room. It was lovely and peaceful and well situated for Loch Lomond. We weren't able to spend time on the Loch as we had a 7 hour journey ahead of us, so can't comment on that. After a day's travel it was peaceful, comfortable and very...
