This is such a good place to stay. We stayed for two nights in the Manger, which is a fabulous room:spotlessly clean, warm and with plenty of space. Daughter and her husband & two children stayed the second night in the family room next door, which was also a great space. The grounds are beautiful. Sadly we were there because we needed to attend a funeral nearby. Lulu could not have been kinder or more considerate and sensitive. She was also kind and tolerant towards my lively grandchildren, allowing them the run of the gardens. Lulu provided me with a vegan breakfast which included a huge bowl of delicious and carefully sliced fruit. We wanted to be somewhere calm, pleasant and comfortable with freedom to come and go to our room as necessary and this is exactly what we got. Lulu clearly loves her job and enjoys ensuring her guests have a good experience. I would definitely recommend Hunt House Quarters to anyone looking for a warm welcome. Thank you Lulu...
Read moreI booked Clover shepherd's hut for two nights accommodation for work. It is a magical space. The Red Lion being a few metres away is convenient for the evening meal. Wayne sourced some ground coffee and a French press for me as I'd forgotten mine. There was a small fridge in the room. The shower was roomy and has a rainfall as well as a shower head you can hold.
I found the (ample) towels too smooth for my taste. Maybe they use fabric conditioner on them. It's personal preference though because my partner hates scratchy towels. The listed cobbles, nearby thatched houses make me want to return for a weekend wander. The shop behind the Red Lion is a community venture so only open limited hours. Wonderful that people care enough to ensure it's manned though. Having been working in the area since July I can confirm taxi drivers love Rugby. Clean, peaceful and quiet is what they...
Read moreI enjoyed my stay very much and would highly recommend Hunt House. The position is good being 10 minutes from Junction 18 on the M1 and 15 minutes from Rugby. The room was spotless and nicely furnished having additions such as a microwave and fridge. Easy parking outside your room and totally peaceful. The bed was superb and the bathroom had a good shower. The room smelt amazing on entering. I dined at the Red Lion across the road, with friends, which had great service and food at treasonable prices. The rooms are self catering and provide a good selection of teas and coffee though if you require breakfast bring that along or go to one of the local cafe or pubs. There is a small shop in the village and a CoOp 10 mins drive away. James, the owner is charming and provided a warm welcome and always on hand should you need him. This is THE place to stay when...
