Kauri Cottage — Hotel in Great Britain

Just got back from a weekend celebrating my 60th Birthday!! What a fabulous place, excellent location for a base to explore Whitby and surrounding areas and in a beautiful, peaceful setting.

We are keen walkers and there are lots of walks on the doorstep, so it was perfect for us.

Kauri Cottage is well equipped with everything you would need for a self catering holiday. Clean, comfortable and very luxurious and decorated and furnished to a high standard. The basic essentials like tea, coffee, milk are provided and I've never seen a glass collection like it, from a champagne flue to a shot glass. The bottle of wine was a lovely touch.

Would thoroughly recommend and we will definitely be returning at some point, worth the 5 stars that I have...

Had an absolutely lovely stay at Kauri cottage. Both the setting and house itself were a dream. The space outside was perfect for the kids to run around and the spot is just beautiful. We felt very lucky to have such a serene spot so close to the attractions of Whitby. Inside, the cottage is perfect for groups or families, there is lots of space and the kitchen is extremely well kitted out with everything you might need - and I’d add that all appliances are a very high standard (having stayed in self catering accommodation many times I can say this is not always the case). The decor felt modern and fresh and it was a joy to return home after a day out and be able to unwind in comfort.

We stayed midweek at Kauri Cottage recently after the refurbishments and what a difference! The cottage itself is so ideally placed on the banks of the River Esk and it is within easy walking reach of Whitby but now with new furnishings throughout, it is almost home from home with quality touches in every room. The dining and kitchen areas have had a rebirth and have been very tastefully fitted out. The first floor lounge too has had a refresh including a new smart TV and a large cosy corner sofa.
