Stayed here Friday to Monday end of September and we were really lucky to have caught nice weather. The staff were friendly and welcoming - could not fault.
We were shown to our lodge and had the hot tub explained to us and general fire safety rules etc. We stayed at the Levisham lodge. It was clean, warm and great views of the lake which had wildlife there too. The lodge itself had plenty of utensils and crockery to use. There was a flat screen TV fully equipped with Freeview and apps such as BBC iPlayer, Netflix and many more.
There were fresh bath and hand towels on each bed, the rooms were spacious enough and had a comfortable night sleep, lovely and fresh, clean bedding. There was a nice touch with a welcome basket with biscuits, tea and coffee.
The hot tub was lovely and clean upon using it, we were in it every day and night! Couldn’t get enough of the views! Very private as well which was great.
We had a drink inside Spencer’s Bar and Grill on site, which seems to only be open end of the week/weekends at the moment but has a lovely welcoming atmosphere. Warm and cosy in there with a fantastic drink selection behind the bar! Big play park outside to keep the kids entertained.
Also, went to the Black Bull Inn just opposite the site over the road, again, welcoming and warm and friendly atmosphere, great drink and food selection.
If you fancy a walk into Pickering - it’s about half an hour walk along Malton Road to get there. It’s a quiet and friendly little place with a good selection of small markets and unique boutique shops. Definitely worth a visit. Will definitely return again to Pickering Lodges, had such a lovely and relaxing time. Everywhere is dog friendly which is a huge bonus for those who like to take their dogs on...

Now we did enjoy our holiday, the lodges are clean but really need some maintenance, and the brochures claims about luxury are quite stretched. It was good value deal, but you think you’re getting a bargain with a luxury lodge, reality is you’re getting what you paid for,
Gate held on with rope Microwave turntable not working 6 ceiling bulbs not working One bedroom door latch broken Vanity light in main bathroom not working Master bed, mattress significantly smaller than the bed frame All bed frames larger than mattresses, children constantly hitting their legs on them. Hob extractor light not working Brochure states “fridge freezer” it is Small fridge with a tiny freezer compartment. That is not a fridge freezer and totally under size for a lodge that sleeps 6. Very poorly stocked kitchen, had to go and buy an oven tray to cook. No vacuum cleaner, but we’re asked not to leave dog hair on carpets and to have them clean on departure . No dishwasher and small amount of plates and cutlery No communal bins anywhere near lodges, all waste needs to be carried to the site exit. No visitors after 5 pm and all visitors must be declared beforehand. On-site restaurant only open 4 days a week.
“spectacular uninterrupted views” although it is nice and very green, you cannot see beyond the site itself so this claim is...
Read moreSmall but nice site just outside pickering itself. Lodge was nice and cozy overlooking a small lake. Hottub was spacious as was the decking area. The bar was very nice and the restaurant food was lovely. Could do with signage to direct to check in which by the way is in the bar. The staff were friendly and the few problems we encountered while there were rectified swiftly which was good. The bar/restaurant is open to the general public. Plenty of places to visit close by Flamingo land theme park and zoo 6 mins drive and Dalby forest which has loads of walks etc. Whitby Scarborough...
