I stayed at Dumfries on Tuesday 16th September 2025 at a cost of £148.99 for my room and a meal deal. On check-in the staff were completely disengaged and lacking in eye contact. I got my keycard and headed to my room (37) on the ground floor despite being a single female travelling alone.|I entered the room to a strong musty smell which meant I needed to open the window to air it. I got settled in the room and went to the bathroom only to be greeted with the same musty smell, damp in the corner of the room by the sink and a substantial amount of mold on the ceiling! If I were asthmatic this could have seriously compromised my health.||I then went over to the very tired restaurant where I ordered smothered chicken only to be served a piece of chicken that was thinner than the bacon on top of it (very disappointing). I returned to my room and was once again greeted by the musty smell so opened the window once again. I decided to make a cup of tea only to find that the edging on the table/dresser had become detached and broken catching my jumper and scratching my skin, I was not happy, went to reception to find it unmanned.||Back to the room and time for bed, my sleep was ok although unsettled as I needed to have the window open because of the musty smell which was a concern as I was on the ground floor.|In the morning I woke, showered, avoided the broken edging and went to dry my hair putting my hair brush on the shelf where it fell to the floor as the shelf was barely on the wall. On drying my hair I was lucky to not be electrocuted as the dryer kept cutting out and gave off a funny smell, after making my hair presentable as I had meetings that day.||I packed and left the room, went to reception to check out and advise my concerns and show the images I had taken only to find it unmanned once again. I waited for 10 mins and then left as I was being picked up and needed to get breakfast. I will not be...

Arrived at restaurant and we were greeted well and taken to a table by the window with the sun coming in very uncomfortably. Ask if we could change table and told we could pull blinds down no other table offer although many not used during visit. From this point on we were treated like lepers. We ordered our meals and over 10 minutes later server came back and told us it was not available. She then asked us if we would like to see menu again instead of just bringing one over. After 30 minutes of being in there we finally order our meals. Food came 25 minutes later but had obviously been under lights in kitchen for sometime as burger buns and fries were so dry and the batter on my wife's fish was way over cooked and completely uneatable and the pea were obviously cooked 3 hours before. We had to ask twice for condiments as girl could not get away quickly enough when serving meal we asked for vinegar and could not even ask for sauce before she had run away. Other tables were asked about sauces when ordering. We did not get the chance to complain as no one even asked how our meal was. And to add insult to injury they tried to charge us for the meals they could not supply as well as the ones we had. We would have walked out had we not had to eat for medical reasons. Doubt I will be recommending it to anyone...

The hotel itself is okay, however, due to Covid 19, the rooms are not currently being cleaned (other than on departure) which detracts from the overall experience. On arrival at the hotel, our room wasn't ready. We were advised we would have to go away and come back after 30 minutes, which we did only to be told that it still wasn't ready! When I queried whether the check-in time was 2pm, I was told that it was, but that that was only a guide and sometimes they couldn't prepare the rooms in time. We eventually got into our room about an hour after the advertised check-in time. We ate breakfast at the attached restaurant and the hotel receptionist advised us we have to book with them to guarantee our place (even though I had prebooked and prepaid). We booked our slot through reception only to be told the next day by the restaurant staff that they didn't have us booked in. They did eventually let us in, but everything just seemed to be a hassle. It was as if we were inconveniencing the staff. I probably wouldn't stay again unless that was the only...

Great welcome on arrival. Bedroom was very simple and bare, no pictures on the wall, with lots of room. It was not as clean as I have expected from previous stays at Premier Inn, (the window sill was very dirty - see photos), though the room itself and bathroom was clean. Despite being very busy, it was surprisingly quiet and I slept very well. For those who stay more than one night, Premier Inn won't clean your room unless you ask at reception. Breakfast, in the nearby restaurant, was rather mixed in review. No orange juice but tropical juice was a rather nice alternative. The cooked breakfast - mushrooms were quite dry, the tomatoes were juicy, the hash browns were very crunchy and delicious. The ordered poached eggs were overcooked and the vegetarian sausages looked like something I can't mention in polite society (see photo!) and were disgusting. I think they were microwaved? It's a shame as I think if they were pan fried, they probably would be quite nice. Overall, a very mixed stay.

Really nice hotel. Was perfect location for a work trip in Dumfries. Spacious room and bathroom. Clean and tidy. Bed very comfy. Only downside was room was very warm first night (even tho window had been opened) as sun had been streaming in. No aircon so no way to really cool room as I disnt want to keep window open at night as disnt want any insects flying in. I did put the fan on which aas available in the room which helped a little. The next day I left curtains ahut and window open slightly which helped keep room cooler. Didnt affect my rating tho as they dont control weather and who knew aircon would be needed in Scotland lol Would happily stay there again if need to go back to Dumfries. Had dinner in restraunt which was lovely and staff friendly and quick service.

Room was fine. Bed is comfy. Food is, not the best. For starter I had chicken goujons. They were overcooked so very dry and there was no salad so the plate looked very bland. For main ihad fish and chips. The fish on menu does not say it has skin on and it does. So I could not eat the batter. Inside the fish was OK until I found not 1 but 4 bones. Meaning I ate chips, and peas for my main. I would stay again but I think I would eat somewhere else.
