Read moreOn my way to Glasgow..caught in storm Debbie (4th storm)...took 3hrs from Aberdeenshire to Dundee....ended up getting a migraine...hence found this hotel...location is excellent...just off the main road...simple...ample parking but was nearly full due to weather...went straight to reception to enquire if any rooms available...from that moment to the time I left...service & stay was more than 1st class...he found the closest room left for my ease to get to (partially disabled & with migraine)...helped me to book room & make payment...later on once slightly better I ordered a meal at the onsite restaurant...it would've been nice if the lady who took my order & payment was even a little friendly with me, considering customer who ordered before me got a hi, smile & small talk...maybe bcoz I was ethnic???...anyway, again the receptionist went above & beyond...when my order was ready he delivered to my room. I honestly cldnt have managed to get into a comfortable situation...with a migraine coming on full...without the help of the receptionist...this young man is a true credit to this branch & company...keep hold of him. The room was spotlessly clean...very spacious...tea & coffee facilities...perfect temp & although it was an accessible bathroom it had a bath...bonus. Big bed, very comfortable, cozy duvet & pillows with extra available in cupboardl. The breakfast was perfect. You can have both or just 1...your choice...Order your hot choice & help yourself to continental. When leaving there was a different receptionist...very chirpy & also helpful. I will always come here if stopping off in Dundee. We use premier Inn brand hotels if local small hotels r booked...this branch gets thumbs up for cleanliness, space, location, comfort, friendliness & service...I think the lovely receptionist was Patrick. Did take a note but lost...
Read moreWe stayed here last week, and in a Standard room. For a little more, you could book a Premier Plus room, so this week, decided to see what it was all about.|Firstly though, a thank you to the lovely Elaine at check-in. Very polite and helpful.|So to the Premier Plus room. Is it worth the upgrade from the standard room? 100%|Bear in mind, anyone used to a standard Premier Inn room, knows full well, it's basically the same wherever you stay, other than maybe when you do or don't have a bath.|The tweaks in the Premier Plus room where the Ultimate Wi-Fi is included, you have a mini-fridge, a coffee machine with pods, chocolates, 'fancy' tea bags, a lovely walk-in shower with an upgrade to the regulation shower gel/shampoo, the decor is a world away from the standard Premier Inn, and while this particular hotel doesn't have air-conditioning in the standard rooms, there's a digitally controlled heating setup here, and by that I mean from 19deg, so you can cool the room down from what has been very hot and humid conditions lately.|The fan noise was barely noticeable through all settings, so perfect for through the night.|The room was absolutely spotless, so good job housekeeping.|We've included the all-in meal deal previously, but just went with the breakfast option this time.|Again, no complaints, especially when your cooked option is made fresh as opposed to buffet style.|The location of Dundee West is best described as just far enough away from the city centre, it could be anywhere.|There's a bypass nearby, but we certainly didn't feel noise levels disturbing at all.|For the price of the stay, it's a no-brainier, but definitely go for the Premier Plus...
