Worst stay at a hotel I've ever had to be honest, the first 2 key cards they gave us didn't work on the door for our room so we had to walk back to the front desk to get new ones. After we finally settled into our room we quickly noticed that the smoke alarm was faulty and was making a clicking noise every couple of minutes. We rang the front desk first to ask for assistance with it and received no response, then we took another walk to the front desk to complain about the alarm only to be told that there was nothing they could do to help us with it as they were "fully booked". And if all that wasn't enough a random person walked into our room at around 9:30 pm because they booked them in the same room as us. We were then taken to the front desk by a reception worker to clear up the confusion with the bookings and they put the random person in an empty room which shows that they were not "fully booked" as they said they were, after clearing things up we walked back to the room only to figure out that they disabled our key cards to get back into our room again. So then we walked back to the front desk again to receive a working key card and finally now after getting back into our room it looks like all of the issues have stopped. We still have to try and sleep with a clicky smoke alarm though which is not going to be easy. Also the free wifi only runs at 900kb/s which is not even enough to load most websites. Definitely not worth the £125 we paid to stay there...
Read moreI didn't think to look to see if this place had air-conditioning and I so wish I did. I stayed here 2 days after the heatwave and my room temp was 30.5 🥵. I would hate to have seen what it was during the heatwave. It was so uncomfortable. The hotel did provide a fan but unless you sat right infront of it it didn't make much difference. Due to safety the windows can only open slightly. If these could have been opened it would have helped a lot because it was nice and cool outside. A warning prior to arriving would have been nice. Apart from this, the hotel was up to its usual standards that Premier inns usually have. I'm due to stay here again next week and I am seriously thinking of forfeiting what I paid and giving it a miss. **I decided to stay for my second visit hoping the rooms would have cooled. We arrived after a 4hr journey and went straight to the restaurant for food and a drink. I went to check in at 16:15 to be told my room wasn't ready and could I come back. No sorry, go next door and have a complimentary drink, nothing. I saw this as a bad sign so got back in the car and drove another 3 hours home. Not impressed Kettering. You have let the Premier inn name...
Read moreFriendly staff at check in and check out. Nice clean room in the annexe. Extra pillows if needed. Great to have the pub/restaurant next door. Just a few things we would like to mention. Firstly the window in room 219 seriously needs looking at, we struggled to close it when ready for bed, you can't leave it open as the very busy road is very noisy and would have kept us both awake, the handle is loose and you have to really slam the window shut. Then it creates another problem, it was a warm day and night and with the window shut to cut the noise of traffic out, oh my! so warm and stuffy in room, yes there's a fan in there but fans only push warm air around the room. You only feel the benefit if your right infront of it. Aircon is the answer I'm afraid. The second and I hope I'm wrong on this one, I opened the door to the smell of dog, yes dog. I know you can't have dogs in the rooms so I'm not sure if the cleaning stuff they use is doggy scent!!!!! But it was quite overpowering. We would stay again but would ask for an aircon room, if...
