My issue is to do with the area, the attitude of the staff on the day and the hygiene with the cafe considering this is in the hospital.
The self service is useless. Whatās the point of giving a choice when you don t actually have anything left at the counter. The actual counter was really messy and dirty. Empty boxes lying on the floor behind the counter. The door to the back store was open and all the mess and rubbish bags were on display and lying on the floor. This is a Costa within a hospital setting it should be spotless. Tables were not being cleared and cleaned quickly enough once made available. I had to move someoneās tray with used cups on. My order was to have in and I was given takeaway when I questioned this I was told I had said take out, I clearly didnāt, the person serving me said āwell we are short staffedā so implying I had to make do with takeaway cups and brown bag for a biscuit even though he could see I was not impressed.
The only good experience the coffee was ok.

Don't see many smiling / welcoming faces Not sure if they are stressed / overstretched and understaffed ?? They are almost always short of full cream milk over weekends ( not everyone like skimmed milk coffee) and on asking staff to give feedback to management - one staff started arguing with me defending the shortage and management placing orders as per their assessment etc etc !!!. Tried to explain that it is not her fault- and just need to feedback to management. I felt she has no understanding of how organizations are managed and a fellow customer suggested writing a feedback on the website, hence the review. At that point with no offer or apology for the COLD coffee,she walked away. As the other assistants were busy I had no choice except to drink a cold coffee I paid nearly £4 for.
