The only reason I'm giving this one star is because the staff that work there are obviously trying to do a job in a hotel the is seriously past its sell by date. The room looked tired and in need of a good make over which proved to be the case when we found that the main light wasn't working. We could have coped with this but we then found that the tap in the bathroom was extremely loose and the final straw was the toliet blocking. Credit to the lady on reception, she came and plunged it herself. She did say that this wasn't the first time she had done this. The bathroom was without a doubt the worst part of the room and looked like it needed ripping out. With us only staying for one night and it already being 11 oclock we stayed in the room we had been allocated. When we were checking out and informed the lady on reception of the issues we had with the room she informed us that the whole place was getting a make over in November so the company wasn't going to be spending any money on the maintenance of the rooms until then. We regularly use premier inns and generally find the stand of the rooms to be very good, however the fact that the staff are acknowledgeing that there are issues with some of the rooms implies that the company are aware that some of their sites are not up to the required standards and are still happy to continue to charge for the use of their rooms.

Actual Premier Inn was lovely, (Premier Plus Room) good parking, clean room, hardworking staff, little fridge ideal for cool drinks and milk. The restaurant was another matter. Absolutely dreadful. Reduced menu which we were not informed of, which on the 2 nights we stayed had multiple items unavailable. We had received usual email week before with link to full Whitbread menu. Undercooked items (fried eggs jelly like), Mould floating in vinegar which resulted in me leaving most of my fish and chips which I had 2 nights running as there was nothing else on the menu I liked. Only one choice of beer and lager as bar was unstocked. Mouldy satsuma in breakfast basket. Not to mention 30minute wait for drinks and over 1 hour wait for food even though restaurant was not busy. (Please do not blame staff, they were doing their best and were understaffed and not fully trained) Informed only one trainee chef on both nights . Very unhappy and disgusted with the whole situation. If I had been informed we would have cancelled meal deals and ate in a decent restaurant, we were on holiday and expected much more. Will not stay here again. Made formal complaint and received partial refund for some of the meals but not happy.

A very well priced Premier Inn in a convenient location in Cornwall for travelling to a number of attractions (including Eden Project). We stayed over the Halloween period so was themed in the reception. A lovely touch that they included for our children was a little treasure hunt of Cornish items in our room; returning the items to reception rewarded them with little treats. The room itself was standard in it's design; some items look to have been recently refurbished however others are in need of improvement. The notable two items that affected our sleep in our room was a noisy A/C system and a mattress that had lost some of its form (was too soft for both my wife and I). The bathroom was in good condition with a decent shower and no signs of mold. Breakfast was in the restaurant nextdoor. Most items are standard for a Premier Inn however no black pudding but scrambled eggs. The bread section included crumpets and croissant with cheese and ham which were nice. Overall a nice stay with lovely staff but a star was lost A/C and mattress affecting our sleep.

Staff (front of house & "restaurant" 4 stars, breakfast 4 stars,  hotel zilch- nil point-zero

Booked a Pemier Plus room for 3 nights.

Arrival Reception was welcoming and efficient (I believe it was the manager on reception).

The room itself was ok on first impression.. Clean tidy and spacious enough (but see later)

Food Good news first - breakfast was very good. Plenty of choice. Not buffet style which meant freshly cooked items. Eggs cooked excellently.

We booked into the restaurant for dinner. An unmitigated disaster!

Incredibly limited menu Food quantity akin to a childrens menu

Quality was very  very poor and not particularly cheap.

My wife ordered a pasta with garlic bread. It was served without garlic bread. Querying this we were told "we don’t have any". Having said that, the waitress did deduct the cost of my wife's meal from the bill (pasta was also inedible). Credit given for that.  My burger was disgusting. Small flat piece of cardboard.

This was the first and last time we had dinner here.

Our 2nd night we had, in our room, roast chicken and salad from Morrisons. Superb!

3rd night, and I strongly recommend, the Crows Nest Inn nearby.

Room As above, first impressions clean tidy and spacious

This is the first time we have stayed at a Premier Inn for more than 1 night.

Staying for 3 nights was problematic. Although we had 6 hangers for shirts/trousers etc there were no drawers at all for other clothing.

Wifi was very iffy and couldn't be relied on. At best, very very weak.

The room was also cold. The heating didn"t work. Despite attempts by staff the heating still wouldn’t work.  The manager tried to resolve the issue by giving us an electric oil heater to heat up the room. And this is for a Premier Plus room!!!

Room not cleaned. We returned to find dirty used cups and coffee/tea/milk not replenished. (Apparently you have to ask for these basic jobs to be done. For a hotel that is outrageous)

Overall a very frustrating and annoying experience.

Staff Hotel staff very pleasant and friendly and tried their best to help despite the shortcomings of this hotel. I'm excluding the engineer who apparently kept insisting the room air con was working. Obviously he never visited the room.

Restaurant staff were struggling to put a brave face on what was a very poor service offering.

Outcome In future I will be giving Premier Inns a very, very wide berth ( no pun intended).  I have used them often in the past for one night convenient stays. But there are far better offerings out there for the price they now charge for what has been a very very poor customer experience.

My advice to potential guests is find somwhere else to stay. You wont regret it.

My advice to Premier Inns is either close the place down or invest to bring this hotel up to a...

Disabled parking was available, but not guaranteed. Other than that; there were a few big sets of steps, even just with crutches; maneuvering around the hotel and dinning room was awkward.

The receptionists were very helpful but. The rooms were very badly designed. It took a long time to work out which switches did which device. Beds were uncomfortable, horrible constant whirring noise from the bathroom + no bathroom window & the shower wouldn't adjust. In the bathroom, a mirror was oddly positioned behind the lavatory, which means that guests are forced to watch themselves, when using it, which just isn't civilised.

Although we had made it very clear that we are not religious: never the less, a religious gift pack was left on both of the 2 smaller beds, containg coco cola adverts and sugary sweets. Not good for parents, travelling with small children, as this may have caused a row.

The thin, male waiter last night in the restaurant was very rude & walked away and immediately started serving another table, when we asked if we could have menus that were not marked as religious. Earlier this same individual was outside explaining why (presumably) another staff member is '..so pale.' He was joking about it and was telling a group of people about this poor woman's afflictions, right by the main dinning room entrance, as we were going in.

Another waitress called Tash was much nicer and was very helpful. She managed to explain to us about food allergies and apologised for all the offence religious garp.

No vegan food (without added sugar) was available. They had taken it off, because of the 'religious menu', So I had to either eat dead animal of go without. There was an equally poor/non existant choice for gluten/dairy free. Very small portions. Zero soft drinks without added sugar. No deserts with no added sugar either.

Very poor smoking area.

Frankly if you can't be bothered to find a hotel & you don't mind paying extra for the cheapest, skankiest hotel going; then this is the...

My daughter, Emily is posting and writing this review for her Grandma. My grandmas experience was the worst place she had been in holiday to and she will not be going again. Skills Holidays sorted it. £500 pounds down the drain. First of all, the dinners. Skills holidays had only paid for those pensioners to have either a starter and a main or a main and a desert. And the cheapest ones on the menu! Cant they have a decent meal? Everything was served with salad, coleslaw, blue cheese dip and/or mashed potato and all the meat was drenched in bbq sauce. They only gave them meat, salad and mash with the other disgusting things! One lady my grandma had to share a table with had her daughter with her. She was around 19, 18. She also was a vegetarian. She was forced to have vegetable lasagna every day! It was the only vegetarian option Skills Holidays had paid for. The days. The room was ok. Not the best shes ever had. Now, we arnt sure if these things were Skills Holidays faults ir Premier Inns fault but two people got ill on the holiday. There also was a theatre show near the Gardens and you could get up their 2 ways. The road way or the Cliff path. She chose the cliff oath with lots of other people. THE PATH STOPPED. NO ONE TOLD US YOU HAD TO CLIMB UP THE CLIFF WALL!! Hard work. Had to complain. Had to come down the road way after the show. No footpath...You had to go across a car parky- road thingy. Cars beeping and shouting at them and couldnt do anything.

Wouldnt recckmend. Not sure if these are skills holidays faults or premier inns but the...
