We loved our stay in the beautiful Rockville Lodge situated in a quiet, private, and tranquil part of Rockville Farm overlooking the beautiful gardens. The lodge was outstanding, immaculately clean, and had everything we needed for a perfect holiday. When we arrived at the lodge, we were welcomed by Richard and Claire, who were amazing hosts. Our lodge had fresh free range eggs from the farm, tea, coffee, milk and a lovely bottle of wine already chilled in the fridge, what more could we ask for, a perfect start to our holiday. We had a fantastic week, and as always, we could have stayed longer. There are lots of places to visit and a train station just 10 minutes walk down the road if you don't want to drive. We have stayed at Rockville Farm many times over the years, and we would most certainly recommend to family and friends.
Thank you again, Richard and Claire, for being such great hosts and for a fantastic holiday, we will be back again for another stay very...
Read moreThe first impression when we arrived was very pleasant. My wife and I have visited from Cornwall to Scotland and it is not easy to find a welcoming and clean Cottage with a good clean smell. From the very well organized kitchen to the bedrooms with very comfortable beds. The owners very helpful and friendly. We had a very comfortable and relaxed week. The Cottage is in a very good location for exploring the surroundings, especially for those keen on wildlife and bird watching with RSPB Bempton Cliffs just a 30 minute walk from the front door. Another positive aspect is the train station 10 minutes walk from the house, well connected to York and Scarborough for those who want to visit without the stress of driving. Next door to the cottage there is also a delightful tea room which also belongs to Richard where we had two delicious lunches. What more can I say? We will definitely come back and recommend...
Read moreThe Milking Parlour was extremely cosy. The shower temperature was ran on full to get it warm, then suddenly it ran cold! I ended up having a bath instead. A casserole dish would have been useful and even a baking tray. Pleased I brought my own SLO cooker. The lawn was cut when wet and consequently my dogs ended up with grass stuck to their paws/legs. It would have been nice to be informed. They had to be carried upstairs to be washed off! This was before going out on a proper walk. Two unhappy dogs. You need to drive to Flamborough if you want provision's, as the only shop in Bempton does not stock much. Or, drive to Filey 8 miles away. Think I will stay in Flamborough next time as the village has more in the way of shops/cafe, pubs. It is also only a two minute journey to South Landing - a truly...
