Absolutely excellent in every respect. Very good room … impressive size and well furnished and equipped. The guest house has superb gardens and is located in an attractive part of Stratton. The hosts/owners were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great.

We found this gorgeous place on Booking.com and thought it would be a great base for our first trip to Cornwall from NE England. We were greeted by Gill and given a tour of the lovely house and stunning garden, she explained the breakfast pre-booking system she operates (which is efficient and a great idea!), took us to our room and then left us to settle in. The room was called "Buzzard" and was spotless with a gorgeous bathroom, fluffy towels and the most comfortable bed - with the most perfect view over the garden, which is the most idyllic place to wander around or just sit in and listen to the birds. Our breakfasts each day were delicious, cooked by Gill (an exceptional cook) and served to us by Richard - who was both charming and amusing, we got on great with them both. We travelled to nearby Bude, once by car, but also used the local bus and once walked, also had days out to Padstow, Port Isaac, Tintagel, Clovelly and Boscastle - Stratton Gardens is situated perfectly to visit all these places. All in all we just loved it and were sad to leave - for years we have wanted to visit Cornwall and it did not disappoint, and I think Stratton Gardens and the lovely Gill and Richard contributed to this, we hope to visit again next year and will certainly not think twice about booking...

The Guest house is lovely and was conveniently situated for us to visit family who live nearby . Gill and Richard are vey friendly and helpful. The whole house is very clean and well decorated. The room we stayed in was large and comfortably accommodated a king size bed and a sofa. The bed was comfortable. There is also a good selection of tea and coffee in the room. The bathroom was a good size too and well stocked with good quality hand wash, body wash & shampoo and soap. There were also flannels, disposable shower caps and cotton wool. |The breakfast room is well presented, the menu is very tempting, the ingredients used are local and of very good quality, fresh baked pastries and bread are available. My husband had the Full Cornish on two days and Scrambled eggs on toast with smoked salmon on the third and I had a mushroom omelette for 2 days and then the scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on the third all of it was delicious. |I felt it was good value and would recommend it to anyone wanting a pleasant place to stay for exploring...

We were attending a wedding at Launcells Barton and Stratton Gardens was the perfect location, 5 minutes drive. Parking was good. Our hosts were fantastic we had everything we needed. As we were blessed with great weather we took advantage of the beautiful gardens. The rooms were spacious, spotless clean and we all had a fantastic 2 night sleep. Breakfasts were perfect, I had a delicious avocado with eggs one day and a fantastic eggs benedict the other. (Gill let me know your secret) My partner and his sons had the Cornish breakfast and I certainly did not hear any complaints. We DID NOT feel hungry through the day! I'm glad we found this little gem. Worth...
