The pub itself was very nice in the back bar New London chef we were told and the pasta was very delicious I have to say. Good portion and well cooked. It’s all they had on that evening but good for us 5 varieties. The beer was also very good for me it was a dark beer called black jack tintagel brewery They had an ipa too but it soon ran out. The front bar was a bit noisy due to rugby being on but did not bother us. All the staff were really nice. The bedroom was clean and well prepared but was very basic no loo just a sink and no tv I think the mattress may have been original since the pub was built in the 11th century.😂 Quite lumpy and sagging to the middle. The toilet and shower was a bit of a faff up and down a couple of stairs across the hall off the side of breakfast room Breakfast was also a bit odd It was a hostel style set up cook your own food. We were told that toast eggs and milk etc were to be used But the fridge was full of other items and we didn’t know what was ours to use and what belongs to the other people staying. Some seemed to live in the pub full time? We found this in the heritage museum about the pub No wonder everything was wonky being so old

Lovely Inn, beautiful and rustic. The owner/manager was very friendly and helpful too. Only possible issue is that the floors are all on strange angles because the building is so old, it really adds to the charm of the building but might not be suitable for people with mobility or balance problems

Brilliant old inn with a fascinating history, incorporating old buildings alongside. In a quiet side street, this pub has plenty of interesting features. Good beer and friendly staff. Small courtyard seating outside.

Called in on a Sunday evening around 6.15pm. Guy behind the bar eventually arrived after we had been waiting for 5 minutes. Asked if we could eat in the bar - he asked if we had a reservation, we said no. Well if table isn't reserved sit anywhere. Asked him for a menu, he thought only the blackboard specials were available and went to check with kitchen staff. Menu available + the specials. Ordered Salmon with a white wine sauce from the specials board. Half-hour later food arrived, cool to the touch and no sauce to be seen. When we notified the young lady behind the bar, she said she would sort soon, but serving someone just now. Within 5 minutes chef from the kitchen arrived with 2 small jugs of sauce, meanwhile our meal had got colder. He offered to reheat & plate again, but we said no. Paid for our drinks and left. As we were going another young couple arrived, asked the guy behind the bar if they could eat, yes he said sit where you like, totally different response to the one we got. Maybe it was an off day, but we found the...

Had Sunday lunch today at the Tree Inn. Was met by friendly welcome from barman and offered a small sample of an unfamiliar Ale (Tintagel Ale), which was very nice. Spent a short while in the pleasant sunny courtyard before going in to the restaurant for lunch. My wife had the roast chicken (which although looking a little anaemic), she enjoyed. I had the roast beef, which was quite chewy even after removing around 15% of inedible fatty gristle from a not huge portion) and I’m not a fussy eater. Good selection of veg and the wine gravy was nice. Food (other than cauliflower cheese which was piping hot) was served only just warm, so by the time we finished eating it was quite cold. At £18 for the beef main course and £16 for the chicken, it should have been better and this is probably why there was only us and one other...
