We stayed in one of the Stargazer tents which was very different for us, but such a brill experience. The tent was spacious and we loved all the little touches, like the robes and welcome treats. The view was amazing from the decking (see photos), and we had fab weather which helped too. There’s a space to chill with a hammock and bbq etc, and the tents are sectioned with hedges to give you privacy. The bathroom was just a few yards away from the tent, which was beautifully decorated with a shower, sink and toilet. The location is great with a short walk down to a trail along the edge of Rutland water and we also visited the gorgeous garden centre on the main road for breakfast. Natalia the host was brill with communication and provided instructions on finding them / parking / where things were etc. Highly recommend The Hide at Manton Bay.

Wow! The Hide at Manton Bay blew us away. What an absolutely GORGEOUS place. We have never been glamping and this beautiful isolated glamping site has truly set the bars high for us. Everything was exactly what we hoped for. We stayed in the Stargazer Tent which where out of this world! Such luxury tents and even saw stars whilst in the tent. The area was peaceful, had beautiful views of the Rutland lake, the greenery was so refreshing. The toilets where also clean and modern. Exactly what you need if you want to unwind and relax. Natalia was THE most perfect host. Her communication was spot on! She was so friendly and made sure our stay went smoothly. My husband booked the hide for us over my birthday weekend. And it was the best present. We can't wait to be back. Natalia and Matthew you own a surreal place. Thank you again šŸ’“ ⛺ 🌌

Just spent a wonderful few days in the most comfortable warm, well equipped Shepard's hut. If you are considering booking this accommodation then go for it! Absolutely beautiful location, fabulous accommodation and lovely hosts. The wood fired hot tub was awesome, it warmed up super quickly and sitting there soaking up the amazing view was so special. There are some great eateries nearby - we really enjoyed the finches arms, the fox and the restaurant at the nearby garden centre called ā€˜the view’ (for obvious reasons) was seriously good. Cooking over the fire pit at twilight with the was also a great way to spend an evening. I wish we’d booked a longer stay and we will definitely be back. Thanks so much Natalia for making our stay so comfortable and special

Liked: The owners were lovely and communicated with us well, the view was amazing and there was a good amount of privacy between the pitches! The facilities were decent enough. We’d want to stay again but only in fair weather.

Disliked: Despite claiming to be a quiet / adult only site, there were rowdy campers who were very loud well past the curfew of 10pm. They also brought a baby with them, so these factors did disturb the peaceful scenery somewhat and was disappointing when we had hoped for a quiet site.

The pitches were mowed but the cut grass was just left on the pitches so dead grass was constantly tracked and blown into the tent. Raking it to the side or collecting it would have made a huge difference. I think Ā£40 per night for a non-electric grass pitch is rather steep considering these factors weren’t thought about.

We adored the location and the owners seemed nice but had the weather not been amazing I don’t think it would have been worth the price, which is a shame because it was...

We stayed in our own campervan so could not rate the rooms (shepherds huts or glamping bells). Great communication via text, nothing too much trouble.

The site...Awesome, spacious pitches that were hedge lined so nice & private, most are sloping but levelled the vehicle very easily, we stayed in Pitch 10 at the top of the site, clear open views across the site & looking over Rutland water. the showers & toilet block are of shed construction & drafty, however hot showers & cleaned to a high standard.

very clean site & well spaced out, we were there for a mini honeymoon & loved it. Animals - 20 mins walk to the Osprey hides (pay to get into the nature reserve), we saw Osprey catching fish, kingfisher, otters were in the area & sighted (sadly not by us). from our pitch we saw kestrals, red kites & a barn owl, all over the campsite at various times during the day.

Would we come back.... definite YES..... logged as a...

I'm a little lazy so don't often leave a review, however, I felt it was necessary for my recent stay at The Hide. If you are thinking of booking just do it. You won't regret it. Why? Well it's as close as you will get to being on a vineyard in the South of France, but in this country. The views are breathtakingly spectacular. Matt and Nat are the perfect hosts and the thing I like the most about it is how relaxed it all feels. As a seasoned camper, I've stayed at many a site but this one is something extra special. It's relaxed, the facilities are plush and of excellent standard. It also has a quirky but in a good way feel about it that's hard to explain. Firepits are allowed and the birdsong in the morning will make your heart sing. Honestly, try it. You'll love it and will want to come back. Thanks for wonderful stay guys and see...
