Fabulous few days spent at this reserve. We stayed just up the road in our Motorhome with our 2 dogs and this reserve was our "go to" place, absolutely amazing to see the Ospreys, even though my camera long lens isn't quite long enough I did get a couple of reasonable shots to remind me of the wonderful time we had. The access road is steep, but well paved, and leads to a car park for the Centre at the bottom of the...

Nice walk down to the osprey hide and then the volunteer in there was great - she had 2 telescopes focussed on the osprey and helped us find them with our own binoculars. She was full of useful and interesting information about the Rutland water osprey, and osprey in general. Really good day out. Take your sandwiches because the other hides are definitely worth a visit too. So allow plenty of time for your visit. The visitor centre is only open part of the year, though the hides are open all year...
