Day 2 in Rutland ๐ŸŒ” We visited the Rutland Nursery (weโ€™re suckers for a garden centre) ๐Ÿ’ and their restaurant was to die for ๐Ÿคค #rutland #couplesholiday #ukgetaway #ukholidays #ukholiday #ukholidayinspo

First visit since the refurb. Absolutely beautiful inside & out and the restaurant is still dog friendly. Shown to a dog friendly table (no view of Rutland Water) & had our order taken. All great, quick service, lovely lattes. Got ready to leave & pay - need some serious thought here guys, how disorganised??!! You have people, dogs & pushchairs standing around waiting to be seated, then people, dogs & pushchairs standing around wanting to pay (which you also have to do at the entrance?) so everyone is congregated there waiting to either be seated or pay. Chaos. Staff canโ€™t decide where/if they can seat people yet (quite busy as almost lunch time) so we were left waiting to pay for ages. If you could get the bill & pay at your table before leaving itโ€™d be 100% easier!๐Ÿ˜Š

What a beautiful spot to eat a light bite or lunch/breakfast. Inside and out, The View is a pleasure to visit. The staff are friendly and couldn't be more helpful and the food is of the first order. Breakfast is served to 11.30am and lunch starts at 12. In between, it's sandwiches and lighter bites. Great for gluten-free, although they're having difficulty sourcing their usual GF bread ATM. And so comfy. I could have stayed all day, but the well-stocked nursery called, and I spent another happy hour choosing bedding and herbs to plant in the afternoon. What a lovely day!

๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿด Tucked away in the green embrace of Rutland Nurseries, we discovered a delightful garden of culinary delights โ€“ the Cafe at Rutland Nurseries! It's not just a feast for your eyes but a banquet for your taste buds too!

Lunch was a symphony of flavours. The Thai Fishcakes were a dance of zesty and aromatic notes, each bite more harmonious than the last. ๐ŸŸ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ And the roasted butternut squash gnocchi? Oh, it was like autumn had cuddled up on a plate โ€“ comforting, hearty, and roasted to perfection. ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿฅ˜

The atmosphere? Imagine a warm, inviting space where the crackle of the fire is your soundtrack and the scent of blooming flowers your backdrop. ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐ŸŒธ Getting a seat near the fire is like winning the cosy lottery โ€“ it's where great food and ambience meet.

The staff are the gardeners of hospitality, cultivating a welcoming environment with their attentive and lovely service. They're the kind of people who make you feel like you're the only one in the room, even when it's buzzing with fellow food lovers. ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸŒพ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐ŸŒพ

Whether you're a green-thumbed gardener or just in it for the grub, the Cafe at Rutland Nurseries is a local gem that's worth visiting. It's a place where you can plant yourself for a meal and grow a little happiness. ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ˜Š

I visited here today- for the record, I'm Indian. The restaurant appeared to be busy. A lovely, kind lady offered her seat up because she had finished at the restaurant. We asked a member of staff if this would be okay as we walked over to the outdoor table and she said that it was already booked up and that there was a long waiting list that would around 30 minutes to clear. This waitress was extremely rude and came across as very cold. She had a really bad vibe about her. Baring in mind- we were the only people of colour in this restaurant/garden centre. We then said that this was okay and went out to the car park. I called this restaurant and then asked if they had a table for two- the lady that picked up the phone said that a group had just left (presumably the lady that offered up her table to us)- but that tables are not bookable and are served on a first come, first serve basis. So the explanation that the other waitress gave was absolute rubbish. Now for me, I felt like this was just extremely racist... I was left upset and in tears at how she had made me feel so unwelcome. The lady that had been rude was young, female and was working at around 2pm. I hope she has a long and hard look at her disgusting behaviour. Kindness and a good heart will cost you nothing. I hope she learns...

We took our eldest daughter out for her birthday breakfast were she ordered the eggs Royal (smoked salmon) we had the full English breakfast when it arrived it wS nicely presented and my daughter ate the first half of the breakfast with no issue. Upon cutting into the second half she found that the skin was still on the smoked salmon making it I inedible. I called over the waitress to inform the kitchen of ghe issue. We continued with our breakfast and did not get any response so my daughter finished her eggs and sourdough leaving the inedible salmon. We had walked there so we decided to order some cake to take away for the walk back home. Upon payment my wife overheard the waitress discussing the issue with the salmon with the kitchen or supervisor, asking if she should knock anything off for the poor inedible meal they had provided. The reply was no they can pay full price. We had spent over ยฃ60 with them and do eat there on a regular basis, the food quality has gone down hill and after been a regular with them, whenever they could open during covid . This is the service they give. No matter what, this is the last time we will visit the garden centre snd restaurant. Utterly rubbish customer service.

Unfortunately we did...
