We had a pleasant stay at Y Garth. The host was very welcoming and hospitable, the room and the bed were comfortable and the breakfast good. However, we were disappointed that it didn’t live up to it’s 5* boutique claims. We’ve stayed in 5* boutique B&Bs throughout the country and I’m afraid this doesn’t compare in terms of décor, furnishings or presentation and is quite dated. As only 2 of the 3 rooms are en-suite I don’t understand how it could be graded as 5. The owner has a dog which you could smell when you entered although it didn’t come near the guests. The bedroom was pleasant and nicely decorated but it wasn't a luxury room be any means. The ensuite is just standard. The floor of the ensuite had some hairs and a cracked tile and there was mould on the sealant in the shower. For a 5 I would expect some known brand toiletries including hand/body lotion presented in luxury dispensers and perhaps a large heated mirror. As a small B&B I understand the preference for guests to give their breakfast choice and time the day before but there was no option to break down the choice of cooked breakfast e.g guest 1 only bacon and sausage and guest 2 with other choices. As it was, I left what I didn’t want. The dining room and breakfast presentation is again nice but not as you would expect from a 5. To reiterate, it’s a nice, comfortable typical standard B&B that I would rate as 3 but disappointing if you do expect 5* or...
Read moreA perfect place to relax, unwind and be fed amazing breakfasts! Joyce runs this B& B and it’s a gem of a find! Nothing is too much trouble. Our room was gorgeous. Beautifully furnished with an extremely comfortable large king size bed. En-suite facilities were great, provision of a fridge and coffee machine were added extras that were most welcome. The range of options for breakfast meant that we could sample everything once and then repeat those special options! We stayed for 9 days!! No wonder Joyce has won awards and high recognition for what she offers. In the end though high standards of accommodation are important, it’s also about Joyce herself; a kind and hospitable person who is flexible according to her guests’ needs and wants, all with a “can do” attitude and lovely smile! Thank you Joyce. We thoroughly enjoyed...
Read moreNice location but all the details were missing... from Cat hairs in the food, no parking on site, a bed that is suitable for anyone 6ft or taller and a communal bathroom.
Stayed for a weekend, location is lovely and quiet, this establishment looks like it could have been great in its heyday but is missing real detail to be called boutique. It is a regular backpackers B&B with the addition of some very nice cakes and biscuits left in your room on arrival.
Very small bed, if you are 6ft or taller then it is not ideal. One of the rooms has a communal bathroom across the hallway. The dining room was not clean, covered in cat hair and had the previous days breakfast still on the table mat.
It's more of a travellers B&B rather than a boutique location, there is some lovely decor but the positives pretty much run...
