Accessible Stay.
We have stayed in this PI on a number of occasions and have always been warmly welcomed by the staff on duty. This trip was no exception, nothing was too much trouble. My partner is wheelchair bound, so we always have the accessible wet room. The one good thing with PIs is you generally know what you are getting when you stay so if you have, you'll know what it's like. We requested the bed raisers to be put on the beds (see photos) on the morning of our arrival and that's exactly what happened. On entering the room, there was quite a strong smell of bleach, which eventually did clear, but with having a room with no opening windows, it did take a while. The AC did work well though and responded quickly. There were no towels in the room, but I went to Reception and within a minute, a bag of fresh towels appeared and was even carried to our room for us. Every time we passed through Reception, we were warmly greeted and asked if everything was OK and if we needed anything. One of the staff even went over to the pub to get us some peppermint tea, which was above and beyond. All of the staff were warm and smiley and treated us very well, I can't rate them higher. One word of warning though for wheelchair users, is the wooden step under the automatic front door to the hotel. It is quite steep and I had to help my partner's powered wheelchair over it, so a manual wheelchair might cause an issue. Overall, an enjoyable stay in a convenient location and so we will stay...
Read moreVery bad service provided by Pippa, just because we would a bug in the hotelbed which had leaked liquid on the covers, she made out like we put it on the bed but we didn't. I think she was being racist towards me and my family the looks she was giving and she didn't do anything when I had showed her the photos all she said is that staff throughly checked and change the bed sheets, the room smelt musty damp and of mould. The windows were open in the room so something flew in and made itself home in the bedsheets. The night staff was so kind to bring new bed sheets and duvet and pillow cases to our room. The hotel staff were not always available on the reception desk at times, they would be away changing the beds in other rooms or the manager Pippa was outside picking up litter from the carpark.
I was in my room with my family and 2 young children, the room was cold and smelt odd. We asked to change rooms the next day as we stayed for 2 nights at the hotel. I am a loyal paying customer and I don't expect to find a bug in the hotel bed and that put me off coming back to premier inn bit I had already booked another nights stay at the hotel which I asked if that could be changed to another hotel but they refused and said that can't be done. I am not happy as I paid in full online and have contacted premier inn about my feedback but haven't received a call back for this to be resolved by maybe a goodwill gesture for the inconvenience caused to me...
Read moreIt is a bit of a strange location; in the middle of an industrial estate and partial retail park. However, it is right next to the A14 and it is easy to get to all parts of Ipswich quite easily from there. The reception staff were very polite, attentive and helpful. I was very impressed by them. They changed a broken lightbulb as soon as we reported it and replaced a non-functioning hair dryer just as quickly (although the one they brought only worked intermittently - I hadn't the heart to complain again. The room was clean and comfortable on the ground floor. What I did not like was the lack of ventilation. After the first day, the room was quite stale when we came back to it and there was nothing we could do about it. The air-conditioning/heating only functioned when it needed to change the room temperature but it seemed to recirculate rather than replace. It should be possible to rectify this problem, surely? The breakfasts at Brewers' Fare were OK I wasn't expecting top quality and I wasn't surprised or disappointed...
