I stayed at Lambeth guest house for five days with work and I can’t fault it one bit. The owners Margret and John work tirelessly to ensure you are looked after and satisfied at every opportunity! Nothing was too much hassle for these lovely owners. ||Welcome: arrived early evening and was greeted by the pair, shown to my room and given all appropriate information. ||Rooms: twin room, spacious, very clean with comfortable beds. ||Breakfast: served on time every morning with a wide selection of options from cereal, fruit, toast, local marmalades, full Scottish breakfast. ||Location: located in the centre of Bowmore. This is the ideal location to stay then travel around the ideal. Ohne eigene Webseite habe ich das Lambeth Guest House auf Verdacht hin gebucht - und es in keinster Weise bereut. Die Zimmer sind gut dimensioniert und modern eingerichtet. Flachbild-Sat-TV, Coffee-Tray usw. sind natürlich vorhanden und gut bestückt. Steckdosen sind auch ausreichend vorhanden, um eigene Geräte, z.B. Ladekabel, anzuschließen.||||Die Bäder sind ebenfalls modern und großzügig bemessen. Über kleine Details, wie angerostete Schraubenköpfe an den Halterungen im Bad, kann man hinwegsehen, sie beeinträchtigen weder das Wohlbefinden noch die Benutzung. Dafür ist der Wasserdruck gut und man muss sich nicht mit einem Durchlauferhitzer begnügen, sondern kann die Wassertemperatur bequem mit einer Mischbatterie einstellen. ||||Der Empfang war warmherzig und die Besitzer gaben freundlich und umfassend Auskunft und Empfehlungen. Der Frühstücksraum ist ebenfalls großzügig, warmes Frühstück gibt es auf Bestellung in unterschiedlichster Ausführung (Tip: Rührei mit Räucherlachs!). Der Geschmack ist ausgezeichnet, die Auswahl an (selbstgemachter) Marmelade, Honig, Käse usw. ist üppig. Frischer Obstsalat steht ebenfalls bereit, normales Obst ebenso wie Joghurt, Cerealien und Säfte. Toast, Tee und Kaffee wird ständig nachgeliefert. ||||Die Lage im Ort ist zentral. Bis zum Hafen, zur Brennerei, den Geschäften und Restaurants sind es nur gut drei Minuten Fußweg. Parkmöglichkeiten sind auf der Straße ausreichend vorhanden. Umgebungslärm war kaum zu hören. ||||Weite Aussicht bieten die Zimmer allerdings nicht, die Fenster blicken teilweise auf den Hinterhof bzw. auf Mauern. Leider fehlt auch ein Aufenthaltsraum für Gäste. Im Frühstücksraum stehen zwar zwei Sofas, aber gemütlich wirkt es mit den für das Frühstück gedeckten Tischen eher nicht, denn man will die liebevolle und angenehme Dekoration der Tische ja nicht durcheinander bringen.
