Amazing pizza, lovely place, quick and friendly service! I need to tell you first that I come from Slovenia, a country neighboring to Italy - they invented pizza and we like to believe that we took it a step further ( forgive me, neighbors :) - in short - I love pizza and eat it quite often but this was the 2nd large pizza in my life that I was actually able to eat whole and enjoyed it immensely! I ordered the Islay lobster and prawn pizza and while the price is quite staggering it is completely worth it. The crispy thin crust baked to perfection and fresh seafood with the perfectly balanced spices - joy for the taste buds. My husband was happy with his spicy Diavola and appreciated the chili flakes and other spicy toppings. Our server was super kind and efficient. Now to the logistics; finding a parking is easy as one can park along the road in front of the restaurant. However, getting a reservation is more complicated. We tried to use Peatzeria's online form for booking but unfortunately got no reply. Finally, we stopped in person to make a reservation for the next day as we were lucky enough to spend a couple of days on the island. Having a functional online booking system would have been awesome. However, they do offer takeaway in case you cannot get a table. We enjoyed our evening at Peatzeria greatly and for me this pizza will forever remain an unattainable ideal that I will miss dearly as I...
Read moreAfter seeing the amazing building this place is set in, we were excited for some nice take away pizzas after a long day of catering for a distillery. That excitement was quickly quashed by the unfriendliest service we received from anyone on the island! It felt like they were doing us a favour and the rush to make our order in an otherwise quiet establishment was rather odd. The older woman on the till was disturbingly unfriendly as well. Wonder how much a smile would cost.
So…4 pizzas and 3 fries, £70. A further 3 tins of beer £20. Which in my eyes, is a savage cleaning out. Especially for something a newbie pizza maker would NOT be proud of chucking out from a back garden Ooni! Unappealingly over topped, with ridiculously large chunks of topping, vegetable toppings likely were frozen, poor dough that was also undercooked. Worst thing was the heap of onion jam/jelly in the middle that looked like a dog had got to the pizza pre-boxing. I would steer clear of almost every item on the menu, bar the pepperoni…which was passable at best. But DO NOT let the premises fool you, or expect anything other than substandard pizza...

Long version: Pizzas are all delicious, with some interesting combos - peppercorn sauce base haggis and chicken pizza was fab. Deep fried lasagne bites, also delicious. Wanted to try the more exotic seafood pizzas, but maybe for a dinner, rather than the lunch we were there for as they are a bit dearer.
Service was top notch, friendly, chatty and helpful.
The covered area outside was bright and open, facing out to sea, or you can dine indoors feeling snug, depending on the weather (v important in Islay!). There was also a groovy dome available with great views.
Honestly, this is possibly the best pizza restaurant I have seen, anywhere. They seemed to get everything right, especially the actual pizza, and both times we were there, we came away full and happy.
Very highly...
