Hildeval Bed & Breakfast — Hotel in Mainland

We were placed in Hildeval by Rabbie's and boy, am I glad we were! Our driver stayed here as well and that's very telling. It's located nearby, a quick 10 minute walk from town or a £5/6 cab ride.||We had the loveliest hostess who made us feel so welcome. A nice big room on the 1st floor with a picture window overlooking the front yard. Heated towel racks in the bathroom, disposable slippers, coffee and tea in the room.||For breakfast we went upstairs to find that the picture window overlooked the sea and the host was a professional chef! Our breakfasts (ordered the night before) came out piping hot and delicious. Everything was homemade and there were ample cold items and fresh fruit on the side tables as well. Fruit was pineapple and strawberries and one day even fresh pomegranate. ||We were stranded in Orkney an additional night and so we were able to stay for three nights total. It was one of the most pleasant interludes on our trip and if we return to Orkney I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. I was very happy...

Amanda welcomed our family group of seven with Orcadian hospitality. The rooms all had themes with added touches of local art all over the bed and breakfast. There were books and information about The Orkney Islands which I felt was very useful. The dining room /lounge had a beautiful view of the countryside. We enjoyed spending time together in this comfy space,||The breakfast was delicious with choices of traditional, local specials, smoked salmon, pancakes, and gluten free options. I visited on July 10 and 11 with Rabbie's tours. Was worried since my room was on the first floor and faced the road that noise would be a bother, but it wasn't. The room was quiet. The bed was comfy. The shower was great. My host was kind. Breakfast was yummy; esoecially the homemade raspberry jam. The breakfast room and lounge area was airy and beautiful. Within walking distance of the water so I had a lovely morning walk before breakfast. No luck seeing the hedgehog but I did get a wee visit...
