Premier Inn East Midlands Airport hotel "Restaurant" dates 10 and 11/05/23. 07:35 ordered full breakfast and waited for it whilst no one was sat next to me, and the restaurant only had two tables occupied. Then about 4 minutes later another table sat down next to me, and they ordered like I did but with a different waitress, roughly 10ish minutes later their breakfast turned up. Obviously they have gotten my attention, so I asked another waitress, "What happened to my breakfast? She checked my table, and there was no order put through for my table number, so I thought to myself, "S*t happens." She put the order through, and roughly 40ish minutes in total my breakfast turned up I might as well have ordered it from UPS through EMA. By this point I had to hurry up and finish by now as I was running late for work. On the evening of May 11, at 17:30, when Premier Inn restaurant opened, I went to book a table. The same waitress that took my breakfast order and having my breakfast late was at the counter, so I asked, "Can I book a table for my dinner?" She replied, "We are fully booked, so I asked when she will have a table available for me? Her response was 19:30, so I decided to book the table as I was hungry by then. I went up to my room, and at 19:30 I went downstairs to sit down and eat my dinner. In front of me this time was a male waitress. He was polite, but I noticed he was under huge pressure. The restaurant was about 70% full. He asked me if I had any bookings for this evening. I told him I did and told him my room number, name, and surname. He double checked it and told me that there's nothing booked under that room number and name. At that point, I was fuming but quickly realised that it wasn't this stressed-out man's fault, so I politely told him I wanted to speak with the manager. For some reason, he decided to locate a table for me. At that point, I asked him that the lady who booked my table was the same waitress that made me have my breakfast late, and she needs to be retrained, he’s response was undeniable in agreement. After ordering my dinner, everything was ordered correctly and arrived within reasonable time, even though they were short of staff. After finishing my meal, I went to the desk and decided to let someone know that one particular staff member needed training as not only it will effect the ratings but it is making other stuff members to working even harder than they necessary especially this lady definitely needed retraining. So I approached the hotels desk and decided to tell my experience with this particular member of staff to this lovely lady who was at the hotel desk at the time, and her immediate response was that they were understaff. My corner of my eye saw the very same waitress that served me on those two occasions, and pointed her out which waitress needed retraining. My last word hasn't left my mouth. Her skin colour changed to pail, and to my surprise, she told me she is the manager. At that point I literally surrendered...
Read moreRoom was well equipped and clean. Right next to airport but very quiet.
Parking was £10.20 which I thought was expensive for just a few hours . We arrived at 845pm left at 3am
Check in was easy. We went up to our rooms to drop off our bags. The man was welcoming and helpful.
We then went to the restaurant as we came directly from work so all hungry, the receptionist said it closed at 10pm.
The supervisor/manager was very rushed sat us at table that was really sticky. ( lady dark hair in a suit, very abrupt and seemed stressed)
Gave us menus and then we waited for someone to take our order which was approximately 10 mins .
Another lady took our orders. She was very pleasant.
The food arrived it was mediocre cheap cafe at best , the meat seemed to have been cooked on a dirty grill as tasted strange and burnt. The chicken was rubbery But no one came to see if we were OK so we ate some of it as it was getting late and hungry.
The customers next to us were complaining about their food when we arrived.
We then asked if we could order more drinks and the supervisor asked me to pay now as we need to cash up! It was 10pm.
So I went to use the vending machine to get us some chocolate, which took my money and didn't distribute my items.
The food was definitely over priced for what we got portion wise and quality. I wished we had gone elsewhere as we spent over £70...

The evening meal selection was very good, I would recommend taking up the offer of a table booking on checking in if you need it as space is limited. It was a pleasant surprise that they cook the breakfast to order, so nothing sitting sizzling away in a buffet counter.
Upon arrival I didn't get the memo that you need to register your entry in the car park straight away, I asked about this when checking in, but the staff member was in training so he didn't impress the need to do this, just that there was a terminal for paying by the entrance door.
I subsequently got a letter in the post from the car park enforcers ParkMaven informing me of my "crime" of "overstaying" based on my parking booking - the charge is £7 for 24 hours regardless of the start and finish time - my "crime" was to have arrived at 6pm and registered my 24 hour parking fee of £7 at 8:10pm after I'd had my dinner. Anyway, after a post to the Premier Inn customer services team web site, I was contacted by someone from the East Midlands Airport hotel within 2 hours and the fine was refunded before it had time to clear in ParkMaven's account. Can't say...
