Mallard Cottage Guest House — Hotel in Tonbridge and Malling

It's just a wonderful place. Spent a night in August with family because of a problem on the road on the way to the Eurotunnel. The place was quiet and clean, and the beds were comfortable. We didn’t get breakfast because we were in a rush, but we saw the guy who ordered hiding behind a forest of practically everything. We had never seen a breakfast table so full of choice. Note that although dogs seem to be welcome, there was one belonging to the guy who had breakfast; the place is organized in a way that the pet won’t disturb you because it is somewhere else in the building; in fact, we saw the dog on arrival but that it was, no herd, no smell or else. The place is a helpful stop to rest if you travel to and from France; there is also a lake that you can reach by walking, and the site has a free private car park. There is a typical pub nearby, but no noise arrived (the place is tranquil); it is good to know that it is possible to drink...

I’ve never ever stayed in such a cold, uncomfortable room, we arrived to a lady in her dressing gown who showed us to our room, we’re not told that any breakfast was available, nor did we get told there was any WiFi, no bedside light, you had to plug the kettle beside the bed on the floor. The bed was absolutely awfully uncomfortable you could feel every lump and bump,No tv even though there was an aerial hanging through the wall, to finish it off the pub next door played banging loud music until 1:30 in the morning followed by arguments and shouting outside from the pub, and constant heavy traffic through the night, as this place is right on a main road.||Don’t be taken in by the sites pictures, this guest house does not look anything...

The hostess was welcoming, but the room was not. We booked a double, but the size barely justified a single. The bed was jammed against the radiator and in order to move around the room one of us had to sit in the bed out of the way. The mattress was lumpy and generally uncomfortable.
