Bex Rooms — Hotel in Worthing

The shower was clean and had a good had a good force of hot water.||There was a very good selection of teas, coffees etc.||The bed was comfy.||The wi-fi was good when I managed to find the code.||||The plug hole in the basin in the bathroom was dirty and I found hair and fluff behind the taps.||There was no choice of pillows as stated on Bex Rooms website and the ones on the bed was very large and uncomfortable.||My arrival at Bex Rooms was not good. I had emailed saying that I would be arriving about 8pm but, in fact, it was 7.45pm. The whole place was in darkness though I could see the rooms and the fact that each one had a pin pad outside, but I didn't have a pin code. There was a phone number on my confirmation but all I got was that the number wasn't recognised. I was rather concerned as the car park was quite dark and I was a woman alone. I emailed through Booking.com asking what I was supposed to do. I then had a brainwave and looked on the Bex Rooms website and found another phone number which I rang and was told that I should have had an email the day before, giving me a room number and pin code - I did not receive that email. We booked a superior room on booking.com and expected to receive a code for the room the day before arrival. This did not arrive and Ben rooms did not respond to our request. We had to contact booking.com||On arrival at the accommodation we found we needed an additional code to enter the lobby. After 2 phone calls this we received this code||The entrance area was dreadful cigarette ends weeds etc and was badly lit. The room was very basic. The toilet made a loud noise every time u flushed it and you could not see out of the windows as they had been made opaque. This gave the room a very dark and dingy feel. It was room number 3. We don’t like to think what the other rooms are like if this was superior. The only redeeming feature was the quality of the bed and bed linen. We just stayed for 1 night at the end of July in Room 1 to attend a party very locally. When we arrived the small window was open and realised later when we closed it the reason why; the room does smell of damp, I couldnt see any signs anywhere, but there was a definite smell.||The room was clean, there was plenty of teas and coffees (maybe more milk needed) and lots of sockets, extras in the bathroom like soap, shower gel, shampoo and moisturiser. I found the shower excellent, only slight criticism would be to add a shelf/basket.||I think our neighbour left their bathroom light on as I could hear their fan well into the night, but there was no road noise.||Its also a shame that Bex Cafe is closed as we couldnt find anywhere local to have breakfast. We stopped at the Old Barn Nurseries on our way home, they served a delicious breakfast!||If I needed a room in the area I would stay again, but maybe not in Room 1...
