Holiday Inn Express & Suites Alamosa by IHG — Hotel in Alamosa

I'm here on business for approx. 2 weeks. The computer and scanner in the "business center" was sorely lacking and inadequate to do work or anything other than surf the web and print out simple word or PDF document. I'm working 16-hour days. I don't have much time. There is no laundry service. I have never seen a hotel that didn't. I've been to hundreds of hotels around the world and even several dozen in South Louisiana and never seen a hotel that didn't have laundry service. There is one 1 guest washer and drier so, after a 16 hard day,,,, with only 1 or 2 hours before i have to go to sleep,,, I have to spend it washing and drying, but it's much worse than that, because with only one set for the entire hotel, It was in use, so not with the very little time i have to sleep,,, I have to stay up for hours waiting on the person using it to finish then start my washing and drying. This means I get very little sleep time and perform very poorly at work the next day with not even being able to recall names and organize schedule due to metal degeneration from severe lack of sleep. First lacking thing is no laundry service, but you would think that with no service that would have ample number of washers and drier to accommodate many guests but no, only one set. This is utterly ridiculous and would not stay here again unless it was only 1 or 2 nights that I didn't need to wash, business or do anything other than sleep and leave...

The hotel, overall, was clean.

Service of front desk staff was average. We arrived about 30 minutes prior to check in time so they seemed frustrated that we were there so early. However, we needed to get ready for a banquet that started at 3. Also, I'm a Gold member so this should not have been a problem. Additionally, I was not greeted as an IHG Gold Member.

Response of housekeeping staff in addressing a concern (orange stains on the sheets) was prompt and very apologetic. However, when I asked maintenance to address the issue of the wall unit (fan would not stay on) they were confused and unsure of how to fix it. A member of house keeping followed up with instructions to hold the unit thermometer in our hands to get it to reset...ok...awesome.

TVs and remotes did not work properly. We ended up watching movies/shows on a laptop.

Display on treadmill in gym didn't work properly so it was hard to tell how far I had ran/how much time had elapsed.

All these things made the stay very frustrating.

Beds were OK. Nothing spectacular.

The quality of the breakfast food was wanting. However, buffet style breakfasts always are, even in the fanciest hotels.

This was a Rewards night stay. I was placed next to the elevator, which I specifically state in my profile not to do.

This hotel charges a convenience fee when there is lack of convenience. I stayed here due to my company, needing me to come out here I typically prep my meals prior to my stay with this hotel due to my diet restrictions, I have left for work, which is about a 12 hour shift to come back to the fridge and non-order when it was working when I placed my food in the refrigerator. It was also a big puddle of water in front of the refrigerator. I went down to, speak with the front desk and the night front desk attendant was not sympathetic or understanding of my situation of me losing food. She said that a manager would reach out to me. My stay was 4/18-4/21 and I still have not heard from the manager of the hotel. I also would like to add that this hotel is very unsanitary when walking in inside hotel room I Brought cleaning wipes from my job due to lack of cleanliness in the bathroom, the toilet was disgusting. The tub was disgusting. The counter was disgusting. There’s lack of cleanliness in this place, and they seem not to care about their customers or their hotel not only on top of that if you like, sleeping on a very firm mattress that seems like they’re over 10 years old someone laid at a angle for long time and this is the place for you. I would like to add if you are nonprofit Entity they charge a $9.95 convenient fee that they do not wave when other hotels in the other area do not charge this...
