Perfection! Pleasant, relaxing one night stay. Beautiful atrium hotel located at McGhee Tyson Airport, adjacent the passenger terminal. Growing up in Knoxville, I've had a long "love affair " with this hotel. I remember when the hotel was built and immediately became infatuated with the modern, atrium hotel lobby and facilities. The King of Pop, Michael Jackson stayed at the hotel, in the 80's, occupying the top two floors. In 1983, I interviewed and was hired for my first airline job in one of several business suites. Over the decades I've spent many nights at this hotel, both business and personal travel. This hotel consistantly delivers a pleasant experience. Although the hotel has been operating for several decades, no one would know this when entering the hotel today. All of the common areas, including the lobby and restaurant, as well as the guest rooms have been completely remodeled and refurbished. The hotel still retains it's original charm, but is completely updated and upgraded. The lobby, restaurant, lounge and guest rooms are immaculate. The guest rooms spacious, quiet and comfortable. My guest room had a very comfortable bed, large flat screen television and mini refrigerator. I visited the restaurant for dinner and enjoyed a delicious club sandwich. Throughout the hotels existence, the restaurant has been providing delicious food in a comfortable, enjoyable atmosphere. In fact, many local residents from the community dine here. When I worked at the airport in the 80's I directed many passengers to the hotel for accommodations and a quality meal. Finally, I must recognize the hotel staff! Excellent, efficient, friendly service! Check in was so easy and pleasant with the excellent customer service provided by the front desk staff. My interaction with the restaurant staff was also a delightful experience! Naturally, one of the nicest features of this hotel is the ability to walk to and from the airport terminal. Access to the hotel/terminal is via a covered walkway. Now living in Florida, I enjoy staying at this hotel on pleasure visits to the area! Regardless of your length of stay or purpose of trip, this hotel provides excellent, quality accommodations and service. I highly recommend this hotel, and its...
Read moreEnjoyable, comfortable, convenient stay! Modern, quiet, clean, safe airport hotel. I have visited and been a guest at this hotel on several occasions throughout the decades. The Hilton has been a big part and asset to McGhee Tyson Airport for many years. Although it still retains the charm of an established atrium hotel, it has been completely renovated! The lobby, atrium lounge, restaurant and guest rooms have all been remodeled and renovated. You will find all the amenities and upgrades expected from a Hilton Hotel. On this visit, the conference/meeting rooms/banquet areas and guest parking lot were still in the process of being renovated. I expect, once finished, this project will be equally successful. My partner and I enjoyed our guest room, with comfortable bed/bedding and furnishings. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to visit the restaurant. Although the menu looked interesting, and the dining room looked enticing, we met a friend at a local restaurant off hotel property. My next stay I definitely plan on dining in the hotel, as the food is reported as being very good. Perhaps my favorite feature of the hotel is the convenience of walking to airport terminal. My flight was very early, and having the ability to simply walk to the airport was fantastic! In closing, I highly recommend this hotel!! I must also mention the politeness and friendliness of the customer service staff! Kathy, whom checked me in, was wonderful. The gentleman providing evening Bellman/shuttle services (unfortunately, I don't have his name) was so friendly and helpful upon our arrival. He offered assistance with our luggage and shuttle service to area restaurants! Pleasant experience and nights rest. Definitely will...
Read more😊: Very nice, cheerful, friendly and extremely helpful staff at front desk and restaurant, would give 8☆ if available! Hotel conveniently locatet within 3 minutes of covered footwalk from TYS airport and car rentals at airport. Rooms unusually spacious, very comfy beds and linnens. Staks of pillows and towels. ☹️: Building itself needs URGENTLY being taken care of. Restaurant appears dark with smells of old frying oil and diverse food, quite sticky tables and far too much cooled down. Poor choice on breakfast buffet, filter coffee only. Not worth the USD 15. You might rather visit Starbucks in the same building with decent choice of coffee and other breakfast stuff or the airport's coffee bars. Unfortunately, floors in our rooms are still partly laid out with carpets appearing from last century, partly with new stone/slab floors. Toilet socket instable. The worst, however, was the noise throughout the night due to lorries passing right beneath the room window and the taste of Kerosene floating the room, despite there is no flight traffic during night hours. Windows and A/C really need to be renewed and brought on today's standards. Both our rooms on 5th floor faced the airport's tarmac, which we have chosen for, but even more so, today's windows standard usually withstand these noises and smells. This is what mainly led to the 2☆ only review. Other rooms facing the hotel's Atrium may be less noisy, depending on floor height and events held at the atrium. Overall a slightly restrained experience, not Hilton standard anyway. Go there for one night max.; if you have enough time, you may find other places for the price of being a bit further away from...
