Super 8 by Wyndham Alma — Hotel in Alma

I was sent to Alma, NE on a 3 mo. assignment. My husband and I flew to Omaha, NE and got a rental car to Alma. I was suppose to keep the car so I could get to work and my husband was suppose to return to Atlanta.

Before I got to Alma I inquired about transportation from Alma. Everyone said that there was none. I made other arrangements. That failed at last minute. I was desperate, not knowing how my husband was going to get out of Alma.

My husband's flight was early Monday morning from Omaha, NE. About 8p. on Sunday night, still not knowing how he was going to get out of Alma, I went to the front desk to print his boarding pass. I mentioned the problem to Terry, the front desk clerk on duty. She told me that the Amtrak train comes about 25min. away in Holdrege, NE. She not only made the reservation, but she also offered to take him to the train station when she gets off.

When the hotel manager came in, Terry again goes above and beyond and asked the hotel manager (Doc) whether he would take my husband to the train station, which he did. The manager was very nice and friendly. The hotel was clean with wonderful staff. My husband and I would like to thank them both for being so kind.

I would suggest that the hotel have a little shuttle like other hotels to transport guest to shopping and other forms of public transportation like the Amtrak, Greyhound and the closest airport. A BIG THANK YOU AT...

I thought this motel was going to be a great stay! Sadly we were welcomed with a rude front desk worker. I think he was the manager. I specifically picked this motel because it’s 'pet friendly’ as I have a dog! We checked in and then we went back inside just to let him know we have our dog and he stopped us and pretended not to understand what we were saying. We told him online it states pet friendly and he said no it does not, then we had to pay ten extra dollars for her. I was like okay no worries, put it on our bill. He stood in front of us and wouldn’t move and said no. We were confused. He kept saying ten dollars and you didn’t ask about pets when we called. I made a reservation online! I asked him if he meant cash and he said yes. I gave him a ten dollar bill and he stuffed it in his pocket and walked away. It was nearly two am and I was so tired. I just wanted to go to bed. He was very rude and the next morning he wouldn’t even show us our receipt. We handed our room keys and he said bye. I was like okay then. Thanks for nothing. I’d really like to talk to someone about this. I don’t think it was policy for him to take ten dollars from me when this motel said pet friendly, and not add it onto our bill. Ken,Jen,Rodger and their MOM are super great people!!The room was spotless bed was perfect!! coffee was hot hot !! They feed a local stray cat and Rodger even built a house for it outside how thoughtful of him !! cat comes and goes as it pleases dogs are welcome and do greet you on occasion since I'm a pet lover thought it was great!!What irks me is when I was looking for a room the lady at the fleabag motel across the hwy. said there were NO OTHER HOTELS IN THE AREA THAT I SHOULD GO TO HOLDRIDGE WHAT THE HELL !!!!!Then was told about the suspicious activity going on around there WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP !! Since it was locals whom built the hotel originally and decided to sell out maybe other locals should have bought it themselves !! This family is living the American dream and I for one hope they succeed!! They take pride in what they have and I will be back so I hope they do well for generations to come!!Despite jealous locals who try to discourage you staying there I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SUPER 8 IN ALMA NEBRASKA HOTEL!!
