After 15 years of camping, I’ve met a lot of hosts
but Nick and his wife are in a league of their own. Friendly, approachable, and quick to respond no matter what you need.

This was my first time camping here, and despite running into some RV (Ruined Vacation) issues pulling into the campsite, a tough situation, they made it a far better experience than I could have hoped for. The next day, they checked in on me and did everything they could to help get me back on the road. They’re sharp, practical, and offer solid advice without any fluff. You can tell they genuinely care about your experience and aren’t just going through the motions.

Beyond their hospitality, the campsite itself reflects their dedication and pride. They make regular rounds throughout the day, maintaining organization, cleanliness, and handling tasks that most hosts would be lazy with, or simply often skip altogether. It’s clear they take real ownership in making sure the whole area is welcoming and comfortable for campers.

The campsites are nicely spaced apart, offering plenty of privacy and a peaceful feel. The shade trees around the sites provide a welcome break from the sun, making the atmosphere even more relaxing.

My dogs absolutely loved it here with plenty of room to roam safely and plenty of shaded spots to lounge in.

Over the course of my stay, it became clear that they don’t just see guests as visitors, they cultivate genuine connections grounded in empathy and kindness. Developing a friendship with them felt natural, yet professional, reflecting their commitment to hospitality.

They set the standard for what great camp hosts should be
helpful, empathetic, and on the ball. If you get the chance to camp here, know that you’ll be in great hands.

Any campground lucky enough to have them on board is immediately a better place to camp — seriously, they raised the...

I stayed a night in #55 Burnt Ranchería. It was beautiful and very well shaded and mostly private. It was late October and it was first come first serve and to my surprise, you need cash or a check. Luckily, I found enough in my car/ camp gear. (Need to remember to always carry emergency cash in the car.) The person who greeted me in her golf cart, Heather was super nice. They go around often and the bathrooms are extremely clean and they really check up on the place. It was the quietest, prettiest site I had experienced until 10 at night, when extremely bright headlights shone right through my tent for at least 10 minutes. This was due to the rude neighbor and his truck lights. but even he was quiet. It was extremely quiet. The sites are very well spaced out. The other nice thing was that I didn’t hear any generators. One thing that this didn’t have that mount Laguna campground has are the very ginormous pine trees. This had mostly oak trees, which were beautiful this time of year. Overall a great experience. Please only come if you’re nice...

I've camped at Burnt Rancheria for about 15 years. The hosts that were there in 2024 were ATROCIOUS, unfriendly, intrusive and homophobic. I'm thrilled to say that a new company was hired to run the campground for 2025 called WesTrek - and what a difference! Our camping trip was WONDERFUL last weekend.||We had hosts that were helpful, friendly, the restrooms were stocked/clean, they brought firewood around, and were just good people. Big shout-out to the hosts Dax, Lane, Nick, & Sara -- we will happily start camping here regularly again! So relieved that we can actually relax in nature and not have camp hosts driving by every five minutes glaring at us!||One other thing to note - the campground is divided into two parts. The south half (more chapparal) can be reserved online. It has the showers and flush toilets. The north side (more pines!) is first-come / first-serve only and close by the overflow parking, vault toilets only. Potable water available throughout whole campground. 10/10 one of my fave spots in...

Reserved site 58. Happy with layout of site, lots of tree shade, a few flat spots for tents. Liked that trees blocked other sites from view, offering privacy and buffering noise. Unfortunately, there was a group at next site who *blasted* their music until very late on the first night of our stay. Thankfully, they were gone early the next day. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD AND ALL THAT IS GOOD IN THE WORLD, DON'T BE A JERK AND COME TO A CAMPGROUND AND BLAST YOUR MUSIC. Most people come out here to get away from the noise of the city, to enjoy the outdoor sounds. Please, be considerate. The only real downside to this site (and probably any others similarly situated) is that it's near the bathrooms with the pit toilets. On the second day we would occasionally get whiffs of the toilet contents blowing through the campsite that were pretty awful. Overall, though, very happy with stay, cleanliness of bathroom facilities (use the main restrooms with flush toilets), and the lovely tree-covered campground.

Our recent stay was absolutely delightful! One of the standout features was the abundance of shade throughout the site, making our camping experience cool and comfortable even during the hottest parts of the day. The campground offers plenty of spacious spots to pitch a tent, each nestled in its own secluded area, providing a wonderful sense of privacy and tranquility. The amenities were well-maintained and conveniently located, including clean restroom facilities and easy access to water sources. We enjoyed exploring the nearby trails and scenic views, which were easily accessible from the campground. The desert trail is close by and worth an excursion. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a memorable camping experience!
