This was our first stay at Angels Camp RV & Camping Resort. Upon arrival, we were greeted by very pleasant office staff who clearly explained the park’s layout, services and amenities. After check-in, a staff member in a golf cart led us to our space. This might not be standard procedure, but to get to our particular space I could see how I might have easily missed the turn-off that passed between two other camps. I appreciated this forethought by the management. Every other park we've been to just hands you a map and says 'off ya go".
Our escort spotted us to the most level landing closest to our pedestal, then carefully and clearly explained all the hookups. We’re experienced campers but I could see how helpful this could be to newbies. I don’t know if this applies to every space; but our pedestal only had a 50A outlet. Our trailer is 30A, and I couldn’t find my 50/30 adapter. Fortunately, our escort had a “dogbone” on his cart. The park will “rent” you one for your stay and refund the charge when you return it on departure. Just drop it in the basket on the way out. Very convenient.
Most spaces in our immediate area appeared to be long enough to accept just about any rig. We had ample open area in front and back even with our 30 foot trailer and 20 foot crew cab parked end to end. There was a standard picnic bench on site, as well as a fire pit with a slide-out grill.
Our space was just a short walk to the dog park, which our dogs very much enjoyed. Highway 49 was about 200 feet away from our space. Even with that proximity, we experienced no issues with noise, neither day nor night.
Overall, our stay was exceptional. The property and facilities were very clean. We appreciated the small American flags that lined the park entry drive. We didn’t use the pool but saw that it was clean and inviting. Although we didn’t use any of the other park amenities; restrooms, showers, laundry, etc, I'd be surprised if they were any less well done than the park in general. We would highly recommend Angels Camp RV & Camping...
Read moreWhat can I say about this place? We drove from Bridgeport, CA back home to Jamestown. We got a blowout on 396 just outside of Nevada. Mind you, our tires are 1 year old. Had a spare that was never used. Had a blowout again on the new tire just outside Angie's Camp. Had to spend the night on the side of the road in Angie's Camp. Went to Walmart in Sonora, changed the tire. Now we're on the road again only to find our wheel bearing had burned. We pulled into this park hopefully we could find a shade spot to get our trailer fixed and make it home. I went in the office, tears in my eyes and asked for help. The lady said, "absolutely not, no working on a trailer in this park." I said, "please, we can't go any further!" She called the manager and they said, "No!" She said, "Maybe go to the fairgrounds next door, but rules are rules!" We were escorted off the property by a man in a golf cart. I'm 70+ years old and just wanted to get some shade for me and my 2 dogs while my hubby worked to got us home.
Well, the fairgrounds showed us a shady spot to park, they were so sweet. Said we can stay as long as we need. If you're ever in trouble, don't stop at this place, you will get turned away no matter how difficult your circumstances. Rules are rules, like we were just stopping by to be a nuisance, our trailer could have started on fire. We just moved to this area, now we know to never camp at...
Read moreWe have a large 5th wheel and booked a pull through site with full hookups. Our rig needed to be centered on the paved site to be level which put us too close to a tree to put out our awning. Not a big issue because the weather was cool but might have been otherwise in full sun. Our site didn't have parking for our truck but a parking spot was provided a few steps away across the street from us. We walked the park and it was bigger than it looks with reasonable space between trailers. There is a small but well maintained play area for little guys. Clean bathrooms and showers are available 24/7. There is an rv site and a tent site next to one another and close to the offices which we will remember when we do a family trip. The office staff is friendly and helpful. They are making changes to the wifi access which wasn't working from our site, so I needed some help to log in on my laptop. They were very helpful and gave me a place where I could sit and work for as long as I needed. Calaveras County fairgrounds are an easy 15 minute walk from the RV park, no need to drive in. Big plus because traffic backs up like crazy during events. Could actually walk into town if motivated. There is a bike lane and a wide shoulder but the highway traffic moves fast during non-event times. Highly recommend and we...
