5 Stars because this place is local to me, we have stayed here periodically to simply escape the day to day for a spontaneous night or two & for this reason, I feel Im able to give an experienced, accurate & honest review. This place was SPOTLESS, the bed was enormous, also immaculate with flawless white linens & very very comfortable-this coming from two people with long history of back surgery & ongoing issues. Newly renovated shower helped pull it together & added a modern feel. The current owners were out of town-however was being looked after by friends of theirs Dave & Jane, who were absolutely perfect...welcoming friendly, and they were not shy about their lack of experience in this area- which only added to their charm & appeal. We ended up staying 3 nights. The other reviews are spot on regarding the regular owners & staff, they're all very accommodating, down to reach & lovely people too who've done fine with bringing this place back from the brink of death! Id recommend anyone to stay here & would not hesitate to to say so. There's not room service, and it is an "outdoor enter room" style motel.. But its in a great, partially secluded location with nice mountain views & woody background , both safe & relaxing. One 'complaint' I'd have if I were to make one is there showerhead was rather harsh, and sprayed every way but on you- created alot if water on the floor after first use, I'd definitely replace them in every room uf needed. A good, multi functional shower head is essential even in cheaper motels, no one wants to feel like they're showering under a sandblaster! Fix that one thing! Otherwise, still a full office stars and the best management that place has had in 25...
Read moreBooked as a lower budget stay for one night. Worst mistake of my life. Motel was once a pretty nice place called the Minuet Manor Motel. Now a run-down shack. Fresh asphalt laid in the parking lot was still soft, crumbly, and sticky. Left traces on my shoes and mats in the car. They advertise free wifi, but it's too weak to reach the other building, where I was staying. There was no overhead light in the room, but the light switch activated a flourescent light tube over the front window that was rendered useless upon closing the drapes. The only wifi connection with an internet connection was weak and kept falling off my list of connections. I told the desk clerk I needed the wifi for business purposes, but she failed to understand that point and couldn't get her son to even go check the router. and, if I wanted to reach the front desk, I had to make the trip because the phone wouldn't dial it. There was hair and dryer lint on my sheets and the room had a strange odor to it. Luckily I bought a can of Lysol spray with which I coated the bed and pillows liberally. Nobody ever told me where an ice machine or vending machine could be found, and I doubt very seriously if there was one of either on the property. Upon checkout, I was denied a receipt and told Booking.com would be emailing me one. I've never heard of such a thing. She outright argued with me over a proper receipt, opting instead to write my name, room number, and amount paid on a restaurant guest check. Without question, this was the poorest place I've ever stayed and I wouldn't go back for the proverbial...
Read moreTerrible. In a word awful. I would never stay there again. I checked in late after 10:00. I've been on the road all day. When I got to my room the first thing I did was take a shower. There was no bath mat in the bathroom. Too tired to complain I showered went to bed. Up and out the door for a 8:00 a.m. meeting in Tyrone Pennsylvania. Realized I left my shaving kit there with toothbrush ect. When I called back a couple of hundred miles down the road, the woman who answered the phone at the relax Inn accused me of stealing the bath mat and hung up on me. When I call back explaining I didn't steal the bath mat there was no bath mat when I arrived in the room the night before I was finally able to explain why I called. This time it was a man on the other end of the phone and when I asked how do I get my shaving kit back he told me to send them a self address box and they would ship it to me. I sent them a self-addressed envelope asked them to put all my contents of my shaving kit in a plastic bag put it in the envelope fold the shaving kit up and put it in the envelope seal it and send it to me. It was a filson shaving bag. When I got the envelope at home in Washington State everything was in there except the bag. When I called they said the bag wouldn't fit. I said it's a canvas bag folded it up you could have and put it in the envelope. 1 month later on a return business trip to the east I stopped by and picked up my...
