This is a great motel. Owners work and live right there. Interesting Breyer statues, trophies for horse pulling competitions, and pictures from real competitions and other prints in rooms. Motel is clean. Has a nice complimentary breakfast with a pancake maker, instead of the waffle maker. We reserved the dining room to play cards both nights we were there. Our stay was for two rooms for two nights as we met friends for a couple of days. We brought our dog with us. They do have a couple rooms for pets. But not really set up for them outside. Plenty of places for your dog to go do it's duty. Although no place to put it once I picked it up. Being the good dog owner I am, I did bag it up and took it with me when I left each day and deposited it in the garbage elsewhere. Suggested they supply a bucket / garbage can just for that. We will go back. There is plenty to see in the area. They offered suggestions that l had researched prior to arrival. Came for the Oktoberfest in La Crosse never got there. Too much to do otherwise. Even the cranberry fest...
Read moreSuzanne, one of the owners, was amazing. I did not have the pleasure to meet her in person but spoke with her on the phone on two occasions. I made an error while reserving a room and was panicked the day before we were to arrive when I realized it was for the wrong night. After calling in a panic to explain what had happened Suzanne assured me she would take care of the issue, and she did, immediately. We arrived at the Draft Horse Inn and Suites after an18 hour drive from Georgia and were delighted at the charming location, accommodations and genuinely friendly staff. Our room was immaculate and the breakfast area and food were phenomenal. Customer service was at a level rarely seen these days. They care greatly about their customers and the experience they have. Huge shout out to Suzanne and the staff! We love finding family owned gems like this when we travel and hope to stay there again...
Read moreWe stayed at Draft Horse Inn while visiting family. We are from NC, so you don't know what you're going to get until you get there and that's a little scary. Couldn't have been more impressed! DHI is one of the cleanest places I have ever stayed. The room was spacious, the shower was fabulous and the bed slept well. Breakfast was fine. Staff was pleasant. Our room was close to the check-in desk, which made it close to breakfast. It was a little loud in the mornings as guests made their way by our room, but that was only a minor inconvenice - I'll ask to be further from breakfast next time. DHI will be or "go to" place to stay when we visit our family...
